He tore his achilles a year ago. I think he can still get it back to a degree more than we saw in 2024.
He will get $10 more to waive the no trade clause. Otherwise they cut him before the last 10m is locked in. Team trading for him then gets him for 3 yrs and 100M. With only guarantees in yr1. Thats low risk imo for a mid level qb
If he is cut he wont get more money than that contract as a FA.
I could see Cousins agreeing to help on the trade front if someone guarantees the remainder of his contract. Effectively $90M for 3 years. Make ATL pick up the $10m roster bonus and they $27.5M offset and the other team gets a mid-level veteran QB for $17.5M/yr. Thatās worth some draft picks.
If ATL wants more financial relief they donāt get particularly good draft picks.
I donāt see anyone guaranteeing 3 years after the way heās looked lately.
I think tommieās scenario above is plausible: Cousins waives no trade clause to add another 10M to the guarantee. Buying team gets him for just 2025 guarantee with essentially 2 option years for 2026 and 27.
I think Falcons cutting him is the most likely scenario.
1/2 went my way. the giants seem unable to win an nfl game at this stage. new england into the #2 pick in the draft next april. they play the chargers and bills (again). chargers need the win. bills could be resting come week 18

separately - the last few minutes of the sunday night game was some good stuff. vita vea with the best tackle ever when his team needed exactly that. very competitive play
the vita vea tackle at the 2 min warning had me wonder what i had just seen. he is so big and the tackle was clean and safe and everything. but he brought it
Thereās no bigger momentum than the momentum going into the offseason when an already-eliminated-from-playoffs-team wins their last game of the season
That has been on my mind for quite some time: how many teams will win their last game of this whole season? Including playoffs.
Right off, 13 teams will not. The Superb Owl champ will. So, the other 18ā¦
This year there will probably be some automatic ones after this coming week. So far:
SF-ARI
Some will win but need help to get into the playoffs and not get that help.
Some eliminated team will beat a resting team already in the playoffs with no chance to change their playoff standing.
Already-Eliminated teams: CHI, NE, NYJ, CLE, JAX, TEN, LV, DAL, NYG, NO, CAR, SF, ARI.
NFL still hasnāt determined the Saturday Week 18 games. Supposed to be two of them, and the question is, should they be already eliminated-team games or important playoff consideration games? Guess it depends on what The Walt Disney Company is expecting.
Maybe one of each.
IMO, should be games that do not eliminate other teams, and that do not back someone in. NFL wants as many teams as possible playing for something on Sunday.
Announcement is after conclusion of Week 17 games, per NFL Football site.
