Haven’t checked the math, but i think that means they are 38 games below .500 vs outsiders, because internally they must be .500. So the being over 500 as individual teams must be measured vs outsiders to be a slam on cws. Not sure if this is what he did.
CWS are 8-38 vs AL Central.

I think it is fair to say that without the White Sox juicing the record of Both MIN, and KC that the AL central would not currently have 3 teams in the running for AL playoff spots.
Stuff like this makes me feel for all Toronto fans since they are in the meat grinder called the AL East.

Yeah, this is one of the things that bugs me about wild cards - setting it up so the average team in the bad division can be ahead of the better teams. Maybe they should account for strength of schedule in the wild card.
In other humorous White Sox news, a couple days ago Crochet ties the AL record for most strikeouts to start a game, and gets the loss.

You’d think that a 162 games is credible enough that four teams per league is plenty.
And, that a more (or perfectly) balanced schedule could be created so that only one team per league, the league champion, with no additional playoffs, would make it to the WS.
Maybe you could write the Mahler 2.0 paper.
0.500 at home in the division is amazing for that team.
wait - they are (per espn) 18-54 at home. if they are 18-18 in the division, does that mean they are 0-36 in home games against teams outside the division???
It was comparing all home wins vs how many your division opponents had in your stadium I believe.
