Fuck cancer.
Rockets fans devastated
More about Bronny, though it is pretty much the same as it ever was.
His agent (I think) is all about defending him from “the haters.”
It is still a simple, “We are making history with playing a father-son pair in an NBA game” ploy that has no other upside.
No one in the NBA Basketball League but the LAL were going to waste a pick on him.
Everyone else in the NBA Basketball League was happy to let the LAL waste a pick on him.
His agent was threatening other teams not to draft him as he would play in AUS instead of for their team. Such derangement.
Only upside I see is that they play him so much that they get a better draft position next year. That’s some long game there.
That said, I don’t get to watch LAL games on YouTubeTV, and I probably wouldn’t if I did.
Bump: Griffeys join Jameses at Laker debut, cuz they’re the only fathers-sons to play on the same team…
“It’s going to be insane,” he said. “Only two families to do it, so it’s going to be a crazy experience, especially with what they’ve done.”
Um, The Howe Family says “Hold my beer, eh?”
What? More about Bronny, the 100th (disclaimer: hyperbole) person taken in the draft, as ROY??
Either:
- Bettors are stupid; or
- The fix is in.
Congrats to the Celtics, who went 29-47 in tying the NBA record for most 3-pointers in a game … and then went 0-14 trying to break it while coasting to a 132-109 blowout of the Knicks in the season opener.
Also congrats to J.J. Reddick for winning in his head coaching debut, in the game that will be remembered more for the fact that Lebron and Bronny got to play together as Lebron kicked off his 22nd NBA season. And, I’m sure people will remember that Bronny played 3 minutes and went 0-2, underscoring why he was available for the Lakers to take him at #55 in the draft.
In a league where even the bench warmers are incredible athletes, Bronny James is the worst player in the league.
He only got drafted to appease his pops. I have to believe that if he had any upside at all, the Celtics would have drafted him one spot ahead of the bottom where the Lakers took him.
He was a decidedly mediocre player from a poor college team, and he has had monumental health issues. He can’t score. He had the 10th best offensive rating on a college team that went 15 -18, and he was the worst shooter statistically on the team (TS%). For every 3 fouls drawn, he committed 4. He shot 26.7% from beyond the arc. He turns the ball over at an above average rate. He is too small for being an NBA SG, he has no PG skills, and he’s not athletic enough to defend at the NBA level.
Even though his dad is one of the most decorated current NBA players, and arguably one of the top 10 players of all time, Bronny did not inherit enough NBA talent.
Now, I could be all wrong (I’ve been wrong before). Maybe his poor Trojan showing was a result of his previous cardiac arrest and he bounces back super strong. Maybe he will develop, but I doubt it. Also, he must prove the whole cardiac arrest thing was a one time deal and not a career long impediment.
After hushed snickers from GMs getting a call from Bronny’s agent pleading with them not to draft him.
If I were one of those GM’s I would have asked “How much to skip him?” Gotta be worth at least six figures. Or a better draft pick next year.
Meanwhile, across town in another town:
Short answer: He paid for it with his own money. Well, I’ll look into it a bit more to see if it’s only private money… OK, back: yes. His own money. Plus, he had to buy The Forum from the folks at MSG.
Also, how much 'faster" is facial recognition than a device that scans a QR Code or UPC bars?
That is money out the ass, IMO. Faces are complex and can look alike.
The area of the arena that is expected to be the loudest is at The Wall – 51 uninterrupted rows purposely designed to be steeper than the other side of the court.
Only the most die-hard fans, who go through a vetting process that includes following the team’s Instagram and showing that they have attended a Clippers game in the past three years, can be in the first 13 rows of The Wall. It’s first-come, first-served and is where fans are expected to stand and chant the entire game like in a student section, just a bounce pass away from the opposing team’s bench.
They made a Kop stand. With singing and shit!
Ballmer is a Baller. Was Bill Gates right hand man at Microsoft. Is one of the 10 richest guys in the universe. The Clippers are his “toy” to play with. It’s not so much an investment as it is a plaything for him, and I mean that in a good way- like he’s a fan.
He grew Microsoft a great deal, but perhaps should be remembered for making literally the worst decision in the history of commerce. He was over confident on the position Microsoft could grow in the cell phone industry and opened a wide open pathway for Apple to dominate. He "laughed at the high-priced iPhone, saying it would not appeal to consumers because it lacked a physical keyboard . “There’s no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share,” Ballmer said How did that work out, Steve? I’d say you were off by, IDK, a couple of TRILLIONS!
Yes, he spent 2B on his arena, but that was only like 1% of his net worth.
I wish there were more billionaire team owners like him. Though, technically he did move the team to a new city so, same as the others [/s]
Also, made Hollywood Park Casino (card room, mostly) now very hard to get to. LA Ram home dates (and Taylor Swift Concerts) were plenty, but now there will be 40+ NBA Basketball Association games being played, along with another, oh, 100 days of concerts. I guess it is Hustler Casino from now on for LAX pickups (mornings are alright, though).
The Celtics should have drafted him, then extracted more value from the Lakers to trade for him than they got with whomever they selected.
Here is last nights totals:
If his performance were to be summarized by a movie title, it would not be “Deep Impact” or “Titanic”. More like “The Crying Game” or “Agent Zero”
That projects to 16 rebounds per game!
You know what looks pretty good right now?
A degree from USC.
Why South Carolina?
The one in the Big Ten, I mean.
Can Lebron keep playing until Bryce gets old enough (6ft 6 compared to Bronny at 6ft 2)?
I think he’s done growing taller. And growing better. In the olden days, late draft picks might be undervalued relative to the then-current bench players in the league. Bench players now are still among the best players in the world. They just look like crap playing against THE best players in the world. Cracking a line-up these days has got to be tough for a player the whole league\LAL wouldn’t draft for nearly all of two rounds, though the LAL bench should be pretty easy given the salaries they’re paid, cuz LeBron and the other guy who gets injured too much are getting paid what they should as individual players.
This should REALLY tell us what LAL NOW thinks of his abilities and future.
