2024-25 English Premier League discussion

I’m sorry, is this worth this much ESPN.com space?

  1. They are on the downside of their career, and getting three-eight years from a 20-year-old is a better bet.
  2. Some idiots with too much idiot money will pay too much for them.

Period.
The only reason to re-sign some of these players is to get the idiots to pay transfer fees for them. That could be a bigger gamble, though.

And put a scare into Liverpool at Anfield today. They are no longer pushovers for the top teams.

Robbo made 2 clown moves today. First cost a goal, second put Reds man down. If Tsimikas was healthy Robbo would not be starting anymore. He’s making way too many mistakes nowadays. Wish his contract was up.

As they say on grumpy pundits, Fulham will win one, draw one, lose one. Opponent doesn’t really matter. Good takeaway is a Jedi might be Reds LB next year after 2 assists today.

Another loss for Guardiola. That was a crazy finish.

They also lost midweek to Juventus. Pep doesn’t handle pressure well. Let’s see how it goes. Honestly leadership should have the talk with him so that they have a plan b.

Get Rodri, best player in the world, back.
Amazing how important defense is in the sport. Like, 50% of the game.

Spurs certainly need to score their goals more efficiently. Now they are +17 GD but tied with several others at 10th.

Spurs’ next match is at Anfield so I expect their GD will decrease as Reds usually play well against them.

Too bad they spent all their money on Rodri and haven’t spent 1B+ on others. Oh yeah, they’ve spent about a billion on the rest of the team and have highest oayroll in league. Without Rodri they still would have second highest payroll to Chelsea. (Team wages are 80m more than Liverpool without transfer money factored in). Why can’t Haaland score without Rodri on field? Phil Foden was player of year and doesn’t play. Jack doesn’t play. Doku is actually good but didn’t start vs Liverpool. This goes beyond coaching. And, the defeatist comments about being done and a year to suffer ain’t what people are looking for from this team.

Rodri is officially out till next season unless he makes a quick recovery. They need to spend more on the defense in January.

Man City is in total free fall. Villa dominated them.

I understand not being the same club missing one of the world’s best players. However, they look lost. Their defense is horrible.

I could watch this all day. Reds look so disciplined.

That went as I expected it to.

That Tottenham game today was incredible.

This article says it all.

What impresses me about Liverpool is they are very good at getting great coaches. I admire their leadership.

Problem is that their opponents know how critical Haaland is. You’ll see two or three defenders on him. Other City players need to be dangerous on offense as well.
Defense needs someone on the field leading them. BPITW is absent, so someone needs to step up, be the leader.
But, no worries. Been a great run for 12 years.

They sold Alvarez and Palmer and kept the older strikers instead of getting those players to try new roles. There is a school of thought that says Guadiola isn’t a team builder. Let us see what he does.

Time to sell these old players to the Arabs. Or to The MLS.

Palmer was a big mistake to let go. yeah, still won the EPL without him, but he is still young today.

Meanwhile, Referees are coming up, and quickly:

Another clinical Reds win today. The last goal from Salah was so delicately delightful. They really need to sign him this week to avoid distractions. I can’t see them playing Champions League final with Salah, A-A and VVD signed up with someone else.
