And City contrinues down the path of self-destruction…
They look awful. Not even a mid-table team at this point.

With the way they are playing what are the odds Man City does not finish in the top 5? Missing out on CL would be a huge financial blow, and not getting EL as a consolation would be bad.
Interesting interview with Varane.
The problems at United have a long way to go before they are improved from the looks of things.
I was wondering what changed with LIV. Mostly the same characters who won only one title, while some other team won four straight.
It’s this guy:
Two-fers? That is attraction-getting. I assume that ATL and Jersey will keep the grass from the CWC down.
Oooh, they’ll be in Chicago! Gotta check that out.
Going for Single!
Jeez, Man U, how desperate can you be?
Salah sticking around for another two years.
Oh, and VVD in contract negations per ESPN:
Liverpool captain Van Dijk is also expected to commit to a new deal at Anfield, with the defender revealing last week that “progress” had been made in negations.
I don’t see how this is a valuable ($$) article.
Um, LIV lose, ARS win. That’s how. I’m guessing the article gets into just how unlikely that is. Um, 0.29% of the time. “So you’re saying there’s a chance!”
OK, they play three teams in the bottom half: LEI this week, TOT next week, and CP final week; and BHA are in 10th, playing penultimate week. No other competitions, so well-rested. Only two tough matches in ARS and CHE.
So, it will be wrapped up before the month is over.
Regarding De Bruyne:
Bunde or Ligue 1 might be interested, if he wants to stay in Europe, near Belgium, and not have to take a nine-hour flight back and forth for each int’l break.
Meanwhile at the bottom: SOU with fastest relegation. Guessing LEI is the fastest second relegation.
LEI now has the most relegations from the top English league, all-time.
Meanwhile, IPS is dangling: 15 points out, five matches remaining AND a 20-point GD deficit. So, there is a chance. If WHU lose the next four matches, and IPS win their next four, that would drop the GD deficit to at least 10.
AND, IPS v WHU on the final day.
More likely: IPS are relegated before the end of the month. That is probably the earliest all three teams are officially relegated.
FA Cup Make-up matches this week, as FA Cup is played this weekend. All on USA, so, cool.
Easy predictions, IMO.
Congrats to LIV. No playoffs to look forward to, but still more placements to be made.
Nice write-up on Arne:
About that:
With 12 points up for grabs:
ARS is looking to be included in Pot 1 of UCL by winning the Champions League this year. This doesn’t mean as much as in past years, since all teams play two teams from each pot.
So, among the 10 teams vying for European competition, these are the matches between them:
AVL (#7) v FUL (#8), 5/3
ARS (#2) v BOU (#10), 5/3
BHA (#9) v NEW (#3), 5/4
BOU (#10) v AVL (#7), 5/10
NEW (#3) v CHE (#5), 5/11
BRE (#11) v FUL (#8), 5/18
ARS (#2) v NEW (#3), 5/18
MCI (#4) v BOU (#10), TBD (FA Cup for MCI 5/17)
FUL (#8) v MCI (#4), 5/25
NOT (#6) v CHE (#5), 5/25
Does that include ManU or TOT winning Europa and qualifying for Champions?
Not including them, as they would not affect the race. They would add to the number of teams for the EPL. And their EPL results don’t affect that (except the teams they play against, of course).
Not sure why someone needs two or more teams, but this is the consequence: their both being successful:
Is there some reason I thought this match was on Monday instead of today? Was it postponed to today or was I misreading the date?
