2023 College Football Discussion

I don’t watch a lot of football. But, good try.
Also, you can watch whatever you want. You were suggesting that I get Peacock for these sports, but I care little to zero about them.

You get a truck and you get a truck, everybody gets a truck.

If you suddenly see an increase of brand-new Dodge Ram trucks on the University of Utah’s campus, there’s an explanation for that.

The Crimson Collective, an independent NIL organization centered around NIL opportunities for Utah student-athletes, has provided every scholarship football player with a free lease on a brand-new 2024 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn Night Edition truck. The retail price of each truck is $61,000.

Each scholarship player will have the opportunity to lease a Ram truck for free from United Fleet Management, with everything covered by Crimson Collective donors — including insurance — as long as they remain on scholarship at the university.

Good thing we protected the sanctity of amateurism for the student-athlete in the NCAA in years past.

NIL has spilled over into high schools as well

Definitely can’t hold a tough road loss this week against them

Crazy ending for GT MIA. Miami was in a kneeldown situation at the end of the game. For some reason, they ran it and fumbled. GT hit a bomb with an uncovered receiver to win it.

That was bad. And the defense lost track of the wr on the td pass? With no time left, someone got behind the defense? Crazy

And that guy had all the right moves until then.

That was terrible coaching. I feel bad for those players whose errors compounded the situation but that loss was on the coach all the way.

Nothing???

I thought something was there, but kept hearing Bob Seger.

And “Go Jackets!”

rn. Go Ampipe.

I’m a little surprised Miami managed to stay in the AP top 25.

Stanford last night at halftime, down 29-0 to Colorado:

“Perfect, guys - we’ve got 'em right where we want 'em.”

Went to bed at halftime, game was recorded. Woke up and finished the game.

On the opening drive of the 2nd COL got sacked on a 4th and 3 around midfield. Led to an immediate TD.

Next COL drive was decent, but hampered by a penalty. Punt. Next Stanford play was a 97-yd TD pass.

Didn’t go for it on 4th and 1 on own 34. Punt. 2 plays later, 60-yd TD pass.

COL went for it 4th and 4. Sacked for 21-yard loss. Stanford scores on 33-yard drive, but only after Hunter got an unsportsmanlike penalty that erased a 4th and forever situation. Now it’s 29-26 early in the 4th quarter. New ball game.

Basically, so many bad penalties on COL combined with an overly aggressive mindset, poor defense, and a final horrible INT in OT by Sanders. COL games are certainly must-watch TV. And please check out Elic Ayomanor’s TD receptions.

Sounds like our CFL where anything less than a three TD lead going into the fourth quarter is not considered to be a safe lead.

I’m going to have to finish that game on ESPN+. My recording ended before the overtimes and it automatically adds an hour to the end of live games.

I watched the last 20 minutes of ewe dub vs the ducks. It did not disappoint. Great finish.

I don’t follow US college football much but watched the highlights of this game. Pretty exciting game. Both QB’s were impressive but the U of W QB particularly caught my eye as southpaws are fairly rare in football.
