Doubtful that the Canadian menâs hockey team will get any medal this year. The US doesnât have much competition within their Group but should have a good shot at gold.
I think they have a shot for sure. They are going to be a team that will depend on their goalie I think.

Summary
I have often felt that NHL seems like a different type of game from Olympic. I suspect itâs the different rink sizes.
Anyway, mad props to USA goaltender Strauss Mann. He basically carried the third period for team USA.

As usual for the gold medal in womenâs hockey, it is USA vs Canada on Wednesday night. Will probably come down to which goalie is hot.

Agreed. They keep going on and on about her age. If they expect her to be given special treatment because of her age, then donât let them in until theyâre 16.

they whizzed that game away. nothing on the power play. blanked in the shootout. gave up tying goal w 47 seconds left. rough loss.

Well at least the Canadian and American hockey women are guaranteed medals (but that was almost 100% certain before the tournament even started).

I watched and it was a very exciting and entertaining game, regardless of the outcome. Couldnât believe the US couldnât even get 1 during the shootout! What gives, the coach said âokay, everyone go backhand and low, no exceptionsâ and their goalie overheard?
all but 1 of the teams end their season with a thud. (well, in this tournament 2 - bronze winner ends w a win)
0 on PP. 0 on shoot out. when Slovakia pulled the goalie in regulation, the US possessed the puck for 0 seconds - all 45 were Slovakia and ended with the goal to tie it at 2. Slovakia was a v low seed and had gotten crushed so far. US offense brought nothing to the table and in a bracket that ends it.
Iâm feeling more sympathetic towards Valieva.
