It’s very reasonable to exclude the Bills/Bengals game from the Week 17 results.

We’re 9:02 into the game, so I’d say it’s too late to declare a COFP. And any awards that affected all teams that meet X criteria in Week Y… for the purpose of applying that award, I’d say count Bengals/Bills as a Week 17 game. (Like if someone was adding 3 points to all away picks for Week 17 and they’d picked the Bills… give them the 3 points on the Bills whenever the game is resumed.)

But for the purpose of determining the Week 17 winner / Week 17 awards it doesn’t count.

I guess the question is… what week to put it in. By process of elimination I think it has to go in Week 18. I can’t see having a one-game Week 19 for the purpose of this game, even if that’s ultimately what the NFL does. That means the Bengals & Bills will be involved in two Week 18 games. Kind of weird, but I can’t see that anything else makes sense.

Just my $0.02. Feel free to ignore my opinions on this matter.

BTW, that’s just what makes sense / feels fair to me. I didn’t look to see who might benefit or lose out based on my suggestions.

And I’m trying to not let my bias over the Bengals creep in. :woman_shrugging:

That, of course, assumes that they pick up where they left off. Given that they’re going to have less rest than the other playoff teams no matter what, it seems reasonable that the game will simply resume with a 7-3 score and 5:58 to go in the 1st quarter. (Or maybe they review footage and determine that the clock should have been stopped at 6:02 or something… I’m assuming they don’t just start over with a 0-0 score and play the full 60 minutes). That might be wishful thinking since the Bengals have the lead.
