I wish i could do that. Sadly, Canada doesn’t want me. I researched it when trump was elected.

If a bunch of people in the crowd were wielding AR-15s and other firearms and weapons, it’s incredible that there wasn’t massive bloodshed at the Capitol or anywhere else in the surrounding area.
Like, “thousands of people dead” kind of bloodshed.
Kind of makes them seem more like tourists if they had the guns but didn’t use them.
I posted a link about the group that wants to triple Canada’s population. That initiative is supported by a former Conservative PM, and Reagan’s old Irish buddy, Brian Mulroney who is all about growth. Might work if Americans didn’t mind populating the prairies, northern Ontario, northern Quebec and Nunavut.

The Secret Service issues a statement that they have cooperated with the 1/6 committee, and will continue to cooperate. I’m sure this puts individual agents in a position they never want to be in.
What reason would the secret service not want to cooperate with the 1/6 committee? I wouldn’t think they would have specific loyalty to Trump. I’m guessing most of them probably hate him in dealing with him every day.
The Secret Service has historically been notoriously tight lipped about not revealing the inner workings of the white house for current or past presidents for good reason. I can’t remember any leaks from agents about presidents making news. I’d say criminal behaviour is making them comment on the record this time, as they should.
Reports out that some of the details of Trump lunging for the steering wheel or at an agent have been sensationalized.

I agree. This was a serious breach of their normal rules. For one thing, agents never want to appear “discombobulated”. And, they never tell tells outside the walls. In this case the agent, Bobby Engel was in Tony Bernado’s (deputy chief of staff for operations) office, across the hall from Hutchinson’s office. Bernado had moved from the Secret Service to the WH, probably a personal connection with Engel. So, Engel thinks this is more or less still inside the fraternity. But, Bernado is so amazed he has to tell someone, and Hutchinson is right there.

They just replayed her statements on MSNBC… she said he reached for the steering wheel and the driver grabbed his arm. The lunge is really unclear if he actually contacted the driver. So i think there is some imagination going on visualizing the scene that is not supported by the testimony.
Serious journalists always include the word clown ahead of every person they’re looking to discredit. It’s in the stylebook.

Sadly I expect much of Hutchinson’s testimony will be undermined. Even John Dean was not initially believed as it was just his word against Nixon’s.
It will be, but it’s also important for the media to not embellish because that makes it easier to undermine.

I think Trump was furious and aggressive about not going to the capitol, i don’t think he assaulted anyone though

My mental image is a large limo that has room for facing seats in the back and Trump is sitting facing forward. In order to reach the driver, he needs to move his whole body out of the seat and reach across the rear facing seat.
There is video of him getting into an suv. He could reach for wheel And be disruptive, but i don’t think he could have done too much more than that.
