Why not both? What you deem useless probably has more utility than you give it credit for imo. I agree about trade schools.
We should provide gvt funded tuition based on a matrix of expected earnings and GPA. You get a 4.0 in literature, fine we can subsidize, but 3.0 out of luck. But you get a 3.0 in petroleum engineering weāre probably happy to subsidize.
Thereās a different between subsidizing and guaranteeing loans. Are you in favor of subsidizing college?
Yes, public colleges according to a grid of major and GPA.
Lol, misread that as Utah hasā¦
Maybe, I think itāll be the death of the party on a national level. NYC is one of the most progressive places in the country.
It assumes that all the policies will work out great. I highly doubt they will. Wealthy people will leave NYC (theyāre already doing that), and the cityās already huge deficit will get even bigger. Crime will go up. But hey, public transit will be free!
You may not agree with all his proposals (I donāt), but they are understandable. And if they donāt work, I expect that, like FDR, he will try something else.
Uhā¦the proposals are the things that voters use to decide on whom to vote for. If Robert Reich lived in NYC, heād get his face eaten by the face-eating leopard he voted for.
I doubt the Mayor of New York is going to be either the savior or the demise of the National Democratic Party. But should he win as heās expected to do, how NYC does over his term might have a lot to say about what future Democratic candidates look like.
Mamdami is also on the campaign trail now, its unlikely heāll be able to enact everything heās proposing.
Trump is the death of the republican party, the democrats may cleave in 2 after that.
So the choices are Hugo Chavez Jr., a 'buser, or a random dude with no government experience.
From a population of almost 9 million people, those are your best 3 choices. Good job NYC.
I think Mamdani is quite popular, I donāt think heās there as a lesser of two evils for most New Yorkers. Democracy in action!
Williamsburg? Iām from Williamsburg: Google Maps
Population 300. Except in the 1930ās when apparently it ballooned to 5000 because of this guy:
My old boss back home used to recount that back in the day there were 10-15 hotels in the town (again, itās population 300 now) to handle the traffic for this guy. Apparently he sat in his driveway, people lined up down the street. Theyād put their feet in his lap,heād manipulate their feet, theyād get up and walk away. Heād take cash, and throw it in a bucket at his side.
His house still stands. I went to HS with his grandson.
I hope he passed down his techniques to posterity
I thought the current guy was pretty good.
you must be doing something right if both sides arenāt that into you
pity he dropped out
Adams was targeted because he didnāt follow the party line. He agreed with Trump on immigration, because illegals have turned NYC into a dump. So the Dems kicked him to the curb.
Possibly because of being indicted for bribery and fraud.
