Awful second guess, because I thought countries east of Russia would be too far away. I didn’t think my second guess could possibly have gone far enough, but went with it anyway, and it turned out to be west of my first. Then went with SK before NK (but fine, since I wasn’t very sure it was either K after first 2 guests)

Guessed Africa with the straight line borders and by luck guessed northern Africa (South Sudan). Overshot with Mali but there were few other countries without northern coastline that it could be after that.

Small, but not an island. Boy, Europe is compact. All 6 guesses within 1000 miles, and didn’t even get a neighbor. Not even a neighbor of a neighbor. All my guesses were too far east.

Summary
Had the general area nailed after guess 1. Intentionally made an incorrect guess in 2 but one that I thought fit the distance/direction parameters perfectly:France. That left only one possible answer

Nearly did something stupid, like putting in France, but then remembered a couple of the smaller nations (tried Monaco for one).

Did not recognize immediately. My list of contenders were European (micros but not monaco or lichtenstein, Kosovo or North Macedonia) and Eswatini. Ruled out Estonia and Lithuania,
outside chance of Latvia, but pretty sure no coast. Vatican City ruled out, i expect more regular borders. 1st guess kosovo gave direction. Distance too far to be San Marino, so answer in 2 .
Lesotho not a candidate since it is more retangular (but on a slant)

Think I would have gotten it in 6 anyway, but it helped that a picture of the map was a jeopardy answer we watched recently (possibly from this week, possibly from last year, either way taped not live)
