Still had three more options. Once I locked in ___ND on the second guess, I had too many alternatives. _OUND has 8 possibilities, B F H M P R S W. Even if I’d used SPEND and BRAND for guess 2 and 3 I would still have had 4 possibilities with 3 guesses left.

I’d already eliminated more possibilities than knoath. I’d gotten it down to 5 possibilities with 4 tries and decided to just guess rather than to try to eliminate letters.

I’ve rarely gotten a 6.
After guess 4 i had 3 common words left as possibilities. I played it safe and did a word with all 3 possible starting letters in in guess 5.
