Was that a repeat word? Seems I recall that from playing the archives. But maybe it was just a past guess.

Guesses 1-3 all had unique letters. That ruled out enough possibilities that I nailed it on guess 4

back to normal for me
I find hard mode makes my guesses better, but today I just stared at it for a full five minutes before I figured it out due to the letters I had guessed already.

I don’t think hard mode makes much of a difference for me. I’m not inclined to make guesses I know are wrong anyway.
Usually not for me, either. Today I was in a predictament where I was thinking, man, I really wish I didn’t know “X” (not actually X) was a letter, or else I would play this other word to see if those letters are in it. Usually I can find a word that fits the clues with additional letters, but today I was really limited/stuck. Which led me to the right answer eventually, but it was frustrating.
