I played around with the A and R for 3 guesses. Should have introduced an S earlier. Luckily my first S word was correct
Took me a solid 5 minutes to make the third guess. One letter in the answer wasn’t running through my mind when I was trying to figure out options.

So I tried that strategy today, and got a worse result than I usually do.

Now, I really should have gotten it in 4. The word I guessed in #4 can’t possibly be in the potential solution list; it’s too obscure. I knew that, but was tired of staring at the letters, so just went for it. The answer was obvious at that point.
That’s all to say, I’m going back to the way I had been playing, rather than trying their optimal way, because it threw me off.

I’ve started using 4-consonant words as starters as opposed to vowel-heavy words. The thought being that getting 1 or 2 of those right off (or eliminating them) makes guessing easier.
Idk yet if it does. I think this puzzle is as much about luck as it is word-skill.

2nd and first words were disjoint. I like 2 vowel starting words, and also things with common pairs like `ch’. 2 vowels gives a ton of info if they are either both right or both wrong.
I just use a new first word without thinking about it too much. I realized playing the archives that solving in 6 is very likely, so may as well add some variety.
Today my first word was flute
