I believe the issue in context was transfer portal post-retirement announcement, but I’m not sure if that makes for a practical timeline.
Alright, WWC is gonna be telecast… on Netflix.
This makes me wonder, depending on how I say it in my head:
“This agreement sends a strong message about the real value of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the global women’s game. FIFA and Netflix partnering together makes this a truly historic day for broadcasting and for women’s football.”
The deal announced Friday is the most significant FIFA has signed with a streaming service for a major tournament. No value was given, though international competitions in women’s football have struggled to draw high-value offers.
OK, so either it is a lowball deal, and “see? no one wants to broadcast this.” Or it is a huge deal, and “see? people really do want to broadcast this!”
Good thing the USMNT get their share of the winnings.
Seems like a big mistake to me.
I can watch it “free” unlike extra subscription for DAZ.
Boston’s NWSL playing in a to-be-renovated White Stadium in Franklin Park.
Here is an imagining:
Uh, where is the parking? I see transit nearby, but…
I have Netflix, I can’t stream ABC. I’m happy, even though I think this is dumb.
Eh, for a month you’d rent YouTubeTV, then dump it.
Same as everyone who wants to watch WWC and thinks it’s a good deal will rent Netflix with which to chill.
Otherwise, there isn’t much on Netflix. “Wednesday” (watched), “Loudermilk” (watching),…
Why do you need parking if the transit is good? Got to get over the California mindset? The big Canadian cities don’t have outdoor parking for their arenas and stadia. You hop on a train.
There was some outdoor parking near the Seahawks stadium when I was there a few weeks ago. At $90 for Event Parking, there were few takers! Seattle has excellent transit near the stadium.
Has a new season started?
Don’t give me that crap. I take the subway for every LAK game (haven’t been in a while, though). Every game is an 8-hour affair, though.
Fact is, some amount of people have to get there over some period of time, and then leave all at the same time. Transit might work, but I see only one rail. Maybe there are buses on the other roads.
The imagined pic shows zero parking. Gonna guess the old Bear Pit (once a paradise) will be paved over and they’ll put up a parking lot.
I think it was canceled. Netflix does that a lot.
Netflix has a bunch of shows that we watch in my house. Avatar: The Last Airbender (tv series, not movie), Legend of Korra, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, Dexter.
Eh. None of that seems interesting. I might start up Squid Game (that on Netflix?) soon. Wife has been watching some murder docs, but I’d rather not.
Funny, I see you as Ladybug and Cat Noir target audience.
Time to get out of the rinky-dink league:
The exodus continues…
Remember not too long ago when the USSF was essentially forcing the women’s team players to stay in the USA for a lot less money than they could get in Europe, where Women’s Soccer is now exceeding the USA as the hotbed? Good times.
Finally a verdict on this:
Though, the coercion charges, the attempts by many to turn this into no big deal, were dropped.
Reminder: USWNT vs Colombia tonight 8pmET
OK, lost the SheBelieves Cup with an A-minus squad. No biggie.
Here is a biggie:
First, I’ll have to remember new last name. These ladies should know that their original last names are brands (when combined with their first names, of course).
Second, good timing, as she will hopefully be ready for 2027.
Oh, USA is getting 2031 WWC as no other country has bid. We do not have to share, but we’ll probably get forced into it.
