I have two seasons. Athletic shorts and a t-shirt, sweats and a t-shirt.
You and your husband work at this same place!? That sounds horrible! Of course, my spouse is a teacher and I would have to be crazy to want to work there.
Nah (but I did work at the same place as my last bf). Our offices are pretty close to each other so if we both went in we could probably do 1 car. Also, I basically depend on him to make me get up and do things.
Jeez, if the crappy Hartford traffic gets crappier because of this shit:

yeah, I donāt want to deal with that shit.
The good news is that the roads suck when thereās any snow at all, so these folks wonāt be around in winter.
Our (large) company just announced masks are required again and showing up to the office is voluntary. There is a free BBQ lunch at our location at 11:30, so I expect Iāll be driving home before noon and staying there as long as I can.
Got an email that masks are required again in the office except at your desk, regardless of vaccination status. I think lots of people are going to be WFH more often now. I am permanent WFH so doesnāt affect me.
What city do you work in? Being masked in the office seems to make it kind of pointless.
I have 3.
Athletic shorts and t shirt
Sweats and t shirt
Sweats and hoodie/quarter zip
Everyone is supposed to be going back to the office 2-5 days a week starting in September (up to you depending on your schedule). For the people voluntarily going in now, we just got an email over the weekend that masks are again required everywhere but your desk due to delta. For the last couple months masks were only ārequiredā for unvaxxed, but they didnāt check anyoneās status.
I am guessing the rise of delta is going to delay a lot of people going back into the office in September.
Office officially opened in July but working there is purely voluntary. Showed up yesterday, mainly because I had lunch plans with a guy who worked in the area. I was the only one there besides the head of HR, who was in the office mainly because his son and grandchildren are living with him until they can move into their new house. Looking at the sign-in sheet itās clear that very few people are volunteering to work in the office, and from what Iāve heard thereās even less enthusiasm for our NYC office.
Planning to go in tomorrow, will see how lonely it is
Our office is about to open up. Masks and proof of vaccination both not mandated, but if youāre going to have an in-person meeting with 10+ people, you must procure and administer a COVID test on your own dime. People will be having meetings over Zoom while sitting 10 feet away from each other. Seems very arbitrary and unnecessary, either donāt open or donāt require tests.
Iām not going in for another six months at least.
Iām not going back in, but for the people who are, office re-opening pushed back another three months to Jan 1.
I went in today, itās quieter than it was last Wednesday although we had drinks after work then so possibly due to that.
What a weird time. Thereās some stuff weāre doing in terms of returning to normal life - weāve had a couple smaller family dinners inside without masks but going out to a pub with coworkers, Iām not there yet I donāt think.
Iāve got a co-op student thatās finishing up an 8 month coop. Weāve never met in person since they started in January (Iād met them a couple of years ago when they worked at another startup). Normally Iād be doing lunch with staff pretty routinely but clearly we havenāt done that. Iām debating whether we go out for lunch one time before theyāre term is up.
I dunno, I think maybe Canada is still more locked down in some respects than the US. Even though our office is technically open ( a shared startup office space) I donāt think anyone is actually working there.
In NJ I donāt think weāve been on a proper lockdown since over a year ago. After a while it became basically everything has reduced capacity and if youāre masked then youāre fine, but I think it was very common for people to be afraid and generally self-quarantine.
People definitely vary a lot in concern though. But one thing we did for work during the pre-vaccine part of the pandemic was everyone bring lunch to Central Park and we all sat in a big circle which went well. Now that everyone is/can be vaccinated some people (like me) are pretty fine going back to normal (although Iād be happy to keep doing some/most of the week from home) while others are still self-quarantining for delta, etc.
Which honestly makes me wonder what the end game is. If a significant proportion of the workforce arenāt comfortable coming in while vaccinated because of new variants⦠will we ever go back?
Are patios open in your area?
My office holds about 60 people
About 50% were told that they are 100% WFH indefinitely
The rest are able to come into work FT/PT
0/30 decided to come into work (except for me)
The reason why 0: Meetings all online with people all across the USA, kids at home, traffic and they get the same done WingFG
Yep. Some restrictions on capacity for indoor stuff. But you canāt even get into some provinces without being vaccinated. thereās still some restrictions and masks are still required.
Regardless of health, there are people who love working from home and have very little desire to go back on a regular basis.
