Feeling fine after my jabs yesterday. A little tired this morning but it looks like I’ve avoided any major side effects.
My stabber lady was really good - barely even felt it when the needles went in.

Interesting. I’ve had the viewpoint that Canadians are not very worried about COVID, both from news articles explaining that it’s resurging, but also due to my antivax family from Canada.
I guess I’m getting a biased viewpoint, because to hear them tell it, it’s not COVID that kills you, it’s the doctors who want you to stay sick for $$$$.
Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing
I think you are getting a biased viewpoint!
But they did their research!
Let’s face it, the kid is getting vaccinated anyway but it’s something to throw at those who think we’re sheeple in big pharma’s pocket or whatever.
I got vaccinated for flu and covid (moderna #4?) yesterday. I felt tired and a little achy last night, but I could also attribute those to a serious lack of sleep and falling asleep uncomfortably on a couch, respectively. I feel fine this morning except for a slight soreness if I poke around at my arm.
Doc, it hurts when I do this…
I’ve got enough kids, maybe I randomly assign half to get annual COVID vax and the other half every third year?
Your data will be more solid when you hit 400 kids.
I think I’m gonna need some help…
Just close your eyes and think of the Mongol Empire.
I had my annual fall flu vaccine shot this afternoon. I had the enhanced FLUAD variety with an adjuvant as that is standard here for seniors.
They offered me a COVID shot and I accepted it in the same arm as the flu shot as is my norm. That was COVID shot number 8 for me since I started having them in 2021.
Just starting to feel some soreness in my arm but I usually only have a minimal reaction.
It really depends on the availability of the shot.
In the UK, you cannot get it publicly unless over 65 and/or from a specific category (compromised immune system).
I think this is madness (you are just asking for more people infected and higher population morbidity later on) as they block the shot from being available privately.
I had to fly to Brazil to get my booster because they offer it publicly to all there.
Doing this again this year.
The flu shot or COVID shot?
Covid shot.
Correction:
Looks like they are finally rolling out the shot privately in the UK at £100/shot.
NHS is “free” but only for the over 65s and those with medical conditions.
I am surprised the COVID vaccine costs £100 for younger folks. That tells me that Labour doesn’t think COVID is a serious matter?
If you google COVID vaccine and go to the NHS site they describe it in a similar fashion to the US with RSV, which is why I’ve pondered the urgency to get my kids annual vaxxed against COVID. That said, in the end we plan to get them vaccinated this week based on the pediatricians recommendation.
Comes down to money really.
I disagree with their analysis because while Covid will tend not not kill someone that is young and healthy (mortality rates are very low) it does however increase their morbidity (covid infections have been shown to affect the health of younger people via long covid problems of varying degrees)
We got our little one vaccinated in Brazil using the 3-shot Pfizer pediatric variant, as in the UK it is simply not offered.
I am also seeing worrying signs that the UK population is trending more towards anti-vaccination (not just Covid). Not as bad as what you see in the US, but the vaccination coverage of the population for some of the common childhood vaccinations is getting worse (which then impacts herd immunity).
Yes. I am concerned about general attitudes towards vaccination apart from COVID. Childhood diseases that seemed to have been largely eradicated are reemerging.
