Will you get the vaccine as soon as available to you?

He was talking about employer mandates, but still. Anne’s father both couldn’t work at his job and ALSO had to hide in an attic with 7 other people only to have the others later murdered, so yeah, slightly worse than being strongly encouraged to get a life-saving vaccine.

so his point was that anne frank could hide in an attic to escape the nazis while anti-vaxxers can’t hide in an attic and escape an employer mandate?

that analogy is insane.

anti-vaxxers really love comparing vaccine mandates to nazi germany though.

That’s my understanding of his point, yes.

Insane doesn’t even begin to cover it. It’s an insult to mentally insane people.

yeah, insane isn’t the right word. it’s idiotic. he’s an idiot.

Yep

ETA: Although maybe that’s an insult to idiots.

Yeah that’s about as dumb fuck a statement as you can make. RFK Jr. has been an idiot about a number of things for quite some time but that one really takes the cake for him.

His sister thinks he sucks too.

Reason 84,297 why RFK Jr’s statement is beyond idiotic: Anne Frank hid in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, not Germany.

Germany is where she died in a concentration camp.

Another, maybe extremely obvious point, she couldn’t stop being Jewish

He could choose to just get the shot

I wonder if he’s senile? That’s such a stupid statement that it’s hard to believe a competent politician would utter it. And he used to be a competent politician.

he isn’t alone in using the holocaust as a pathetic analogy for masks and vaxxing

I remember getting to the end of her diary and how nonchalantly it just stops. Like I’m immersed in her world and then someone just stops the movie. And then it dawns on you… Sometimes real life is scarier than fiction.

You just KNOW he thought he was nailing it as it was coming out.

Yes, but he is a Democrat. Democrats don’t seem to generally equate vaccine mandates to the holocaust. They can’t get away with crazy statements like that.

I just got vaccinated. For tetanus. Didn’t realize you need boosters every 10 years.

But I’m eligible for COVID booster 2 soon! #ImmunocompromisedGang

wasn’t giving him an out, just saying the senile comment didn’t apply unless that was communicable, regardless of party

I will never understand these “power couples” that have to publicly assert “I do not agree with my husband/wife” on fundamental issues.

I disagree with my partner’s position that pineapple belongs on a pizza, we have some disagreements like whether ghosts exist (no), we agree on fundamental human rights and life-and-death issues.

These people must have just marriages of convenience (and likely some sociopathy), right?

You don’t think it’s possible to be happily married to someone where you fundamentally disagree on big things?

I’ll file the divorce paperwork today.

Maybe they have marriages based on lust? On property? Those were traditional reasons to be married, i suppose.

But yeah, you aren’t going to see me announcing to the world that my husband is a dirt bag. If i ever feel that way, we’ll split up before i go public.

James Carville and Mary Maitland have been married for nearly 30 years.
