Will you get the vaccine as soon as available to you?

Oohh! I’ll try that next time around.

I took my daughter for her booster within 24 hours of her arriving home for Xmas.

Loner says I should have had her rapid tested first since she had been through airports, on a plane, etc. I wasn’t aware of this and can’t find any guidance on it.

I mean, it’s too late now, but should you not get a booster if you have had potential exposure? She was tested twice before leaving. :woman_shrugging:

I haven’t heard of that, either. A quick google shows nothing.

You’re not supposed to get vaccinated during an infection, mostly because it doesn’t do any good. I wouldn’t worry about it, though.

also if you get Covid after the first shot, you would have to start the series over again

Huh? Why?

No idea, was told that by my niece, who didn’t want to possibly expose her kid.

Sounded possible, didn’t verify

Sounds (Smells?) like BS to me.
Nothing anyone tells me about stuff they are not experts in gets any credible weight. “Provide a credible source, and we’ll discuss; otherwise, respectfully, STFU.”

Maybe if treated with monoclonal antibodies? But that would only affect a recent vaccination vs starting all over.

My son tested positive between first and second dose. We were told by his doctor to get him the second dose as scheduled as it was outside the isolation period.

I wonder if it’s simply that the vaccine isn’t proven to work in that use case.

maybe she just didn’t want to deal with the postponement, if exposed to late

SIL got Covid in between her two shots.

I was on antibiotics and told to wait until finished to get boosted.

Yeah, if you get monoclonal antibodies you need to wait until they clear your system, or they may bind the vaccine enough that it doesn’t trigger your immune system. And maybe that’s even an issue if you get monoclonal antibodies immediately after being vaccinated.

Hubby had the worst time with the booster.

But I attributed that to the booster being Moderna and the first two doses being Pfizer. :woman_shrugging:

Well I guess everyone’s different.

For sure.

I was a little tired after my booster & had a sore arm. He was in bed for like 20 straight hours. I think I might have slept for 10 hours after my booster. Considering that 8 is “normal”, he had 6x the excess sleep of me. And was more “wiped out” when he was awake too.

We had the same sequence: two doses of Pfizer and then a Moderna booster.

Normally I am the one who looks at a sick person from a great distance and get sick while people can cough all over him and he doesn’t get sick. So this was surprising to me.

Boosted yesterday, slammed today. No fever just exhausted. No energy.

I felt pretty terrible for 2 days after my booster. I don’t think I got out of bed much the day after. Enjoyed some Netflix that day.

Exactly the same experience I had with my 3rd Pfizer.
Just completely exhausted on day 2.
Day 3 was better, but not normal.
Day 4 was normal.

I did develop a slight temp late in the day. It broke over night. I dragged myself out of bed this morning bc I had a chiropractor appt and thought the adjustment might feel good after yesterday. Glad I did that.

Still low energy but I should be able to work.
