Turkey, mashed, and veggies. No gravy: haven’t made it yet.
I just realized that I started to pack a lunch this morning, then something squirreled me, so at home there is an empty container without the lunch that I forgot to pack so now I have to decide where to get lunch. Maybe I’ll just run to Kroger and get some basic sandwich stuff to keep in the work fridge.
Leftover Detroit style pizza (pepperoni and sausage), which left me time for a quick 15 minute bike ride. I’ll take what I can get.
Panera. Meh.
I’ve almost given up on Panera. I think the quality has slipped and it’s pretty pricey. My local deli is cheaper and they make everything in house.
Bowl of pho at a good Vietnamese place!
A famous bowl. Only $5-something, not bad.
A filet o fish sandwich. I know it’s a disgusting sandwich, but I loved it as a kid and still find it nostalgic. Oddly, I also loved the McRib, but I tried one a while back and nearly threw up.
I can still enjoy the FoF, I did not enjoy the adult retry of a McR, but not as visceral as your reaction
FoF is passable for me, but Arby’s is much better.
I will throw down on a beef and cheddar. Lion’s Choice is also acceptable, with the big urns of help yourself jus.
I used to like these a lot when I was a kid/teenager, but they seem gross to me now. I will still gobble up some roast beef sandwiches now.
The Arby’s meat is pressed roast beef. I get why I SHOULD be grossed out, but it’s one of those nostalgic things I still like.
Lion’s Choice is fast food but it’s actually a legit roast beef sandwich.
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a Lion’s choice. I see they are a STL thing. Haven’t been there much at all, and it was typically downtown.
Today, a Lenten favourite of mine: tuna sandwiches.
Off menu, but you used to be able to get a double filet-o-fish.
A rare weekday lunch date with Mrs G. Outdoor patio dining at a local pizza place. Spinach salad and a (Neapolitan) slice of White Shadow:
White sauce, roasted garlic, caramelized onions, sliced Portobello mushrooms, feta, and fresh parmesan, finished with truffle oil
I had yet another ~15 minute lunch break. Thankfully I had leftovers, more or less fajitas from a local place. With some Herdez brand guacamole salsa - normally I’m not one for pre-packaged salsa but this stuff is pretty legit.
Herdez is good stuff for store bought, imo. We have had the salsa verde before.
Clam chowder, broccoli, avocado toast, tortilla chips.
