Randy Described Eternity by Built to Spill. Don’t know why, it’s not what I’d generally call ‘catchy,’ but here we are.
Theme to bill nye the science guy
Love the image that song conjures for me.
How Deep Is Your Love? - the Bee Gees
Friday on My Mind - The Easybeats
Take It Easy - the Eagles
Secret Agent Man - Johnny Rivers
(I always sing “Secret Asian Man” though)
My wife thought it was Secret Asian Man until she was like 30 years old.
Sister Golden Hair - America [When I sing it with all the grammar corrected, it makes me laugh. My daughter doesn’t find it amusing.]
Do you wanna get rocked? Def leopard.
Polar Opposites - Modest Mouse
also some songs by the Shins, but the titles sort of escape me
Probably new slang. That one is catchy will all the ooh oohs
def not new slang. or phantom limb. i’d have to look at a few others to confirm what it is, and Im too lazy right now
updated - it was “turn on me” and also “gone for good”
Turn on Me is the one that most often sticks in my brain as well.
I just turned on my twelve inch three speed oscillating fan (an Emerson fan ca 1930). Every time I turn it on I think of this song. Big Smith was a band out of SW Missouri in the 90s, and they’ve done some shows here and there recently. I saw them at a bar in Joplin, MO in 1999, give or take a year.
the replacements “one wink at a time” is in my head every time I am at the airport and see the sign for baggage claim.
Baggage claim is this way
so watch her walk down that way
in a hurry
to put an end to his day
