After today, we’ve established without a doubt who the bad guys are.
Just now?
I think there is a point in any relationship when the mask of one side falls off completely, and the other side sees them for what they truly represent.
The US are the bad guys now. They have allied themselves to evil.
It is what it is and people are accepting it now.
I always assumed when WWIII happened, the US would go down in history as one of the Allies, but we are clearly the Axis and that’s chilling.
It runs contrary to the premise of this thread that implied that all the non-Nazi sympathizers were the bad guys.
Just finished my third book by Omar El Akkad: One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This.
Powerful, disturbing read. Forced me to rethink my complacency on some issues.
An old review of his book is at the link below.
As of what day? Something in February? I think you’re going to be a lot more specific in this thread.
Hmm, I wonder what thing we did specifically in Feb 2025.
There’ve been a lot of “bad guy” things since then.
That TH post was made on 28 February.
On that day:
- We got the first of the lower court rulings holding the DOGE firings illegal (ultimately reversed by SCOTUS)
- Our Glorious Leader implemented tariffs against Canada and Mexico (I believe this is the one that initially triggered boycotts of American goods in Canada)
- Folks started calling
on the details of alleged savings that DOGE was publishing on its wall of receipts.
I suspect TH’s comment was a reference to the second of the three, but the others are contenders.
It was probably this, which illustrated that Trump and Vance were [and still are] really on the side of Russia and at a minimum not aligned with Ukraine. It was about a week after Trump called Zelenskyy a dictator while refusing to remark on Putin’s handling of the Russian government in any kind of critical terms, so my comment could have applied then.
It’s even more apparent since, as Trump, Vance, Witkoff, et al. continue to push the Russian narrative on “solving the war for both sides” at the expense of Ukraine, the cost still to be determined. And, Trump and Vance [and Kushner] continue to support anti-democratic nations while pushing American imperialist messaging and actions. [Well, maybe Kushner isn’t involved in that - he’s really just there for new sources of money to launder to prop up all his past failed investments.]
At the time, I think my remark was clear to everyone reading this thread. If you’re that concerned about a lack of clarity, next time don’t show up 312 days later asking for clarification.
Can I use this one at work?
I was simply amused at my ignorance over which of our many “bad guy” things were done on that day. It’s been a long year.
Yes, a day in the life of Trump World seems like a year.
Sounds like something Rahm would do
The last time I checked, the bad guys are the ones who dress up in government uniforms and claim unfettered government power and without provocation shoot and kill unarmed citizens.
You left out while masking their faces, denying medical care to the dying person, trouncing the crime scene, and making the murderer disappear like a fart asap.
I didn’t have all those details whenever I made that post. I was offline from the rest of the world much of yesterday, which the more I read about what happened, the more I’m glad I wasn’t plugged in.
