What goes after the jamon

Currently on the agenda would be

Churros + the chocolate stuff, and then

jamon probably

What’s next

Patatas bravas

Pan catalan

Tortilla

Lots of delectable cheeses and charcuterie

Margaritas and guac!!! :face_savoring_food:

You’re doing it wrong…

1st:

Pimientos de Padron

White Wine (Small serving)

2nd:

Jamon Iberico (pata negra)

White Wine (small serving)

Maybe some tortilla and queso manchego if you can source that in the US (its a bit strong and pungent so may not be to your liking)

Desert:

Basque Cheesecake

Maybe so desert wine (I usually skip this as I am not a huge fan of Spanish desert wines). Coffee and some petit fours is fine.

Then you move on to dinner…

I am actually at Lisbon airport now so will eat some nata tarts in your honour…

Rye, jamon rye.

Bought some great fish paste at Lisbon airport. Can’t remember what fish it was.

I made a mistake in planning so Noor is closed on the Monday I happen to be in Cordoba. Actually a lot of places are closed on Monday. What else is there

Also, how good is Basque food when you’re not in the Basque country? I was wondering if I should just save that for later if I ever visit Bilbao

Its decent if you are in a place like Madrid (so you have a large contingent of Basque restaurants).

Can get meh in smaller places. I wound avoid outside San Seb/Bilbao area.

The Arab Baths.

Great. They cancelled by Rio flight so now I have to stay in a Lisbon hotel and come back tomorrow for a day flight.

Arrgghh…TAP is going to hear from me tomorrow.

Normally, I’d put in a Top 10 Happy Hour in Lisbon, Portugal link here, but I’m guessing all the bars are closed. :frowning:

Yeah. Had to scramble to get a hotel and get some sleep.

On the flipside, TAP lady told me that I am eligible for €600 in EU flight compensation (as the cancellation was the fault of the airline) alongside the usual expenses. Yay free money

So eating some bacalao at the food market inside the airport…(which is actually surprisingly good) before my day flight in a few hours.

This is something the EU really got right. If an airline screws up in the US, maybe you get a night at the Holiday Inn and a $25 food voucher.
