I am enjoying watching the Loki series.
I thought there were still 2 more episodes to go.
Might have gotten re-written on the fly to de-emphasize Johnathon Majors. Heās toxic right now.
Itās been fun regardless though.
The bookās pretty good.
Greatly enjoyed the book, All the Light We Can Not See, so started watching tonight the Netflix series based on it. First episode was very well done and captured the intensity of the story.
I went back to see what I thought of it, but I guess I read it in AO times.
I think I provided comments after reading All the Light We Can Not See but also couldnāt find them.
My wife had recommended the book to me but she refuses to watch the Netflix series because the book was so dark. She currently wants to only watch light or funny stuff because the real world is so dark right now.
Iām through Season 6.
I keep telling myself I should stop, but I will press on.
Note: it is amazing how often people get stabbed on this show, only to heal and be good as new, as if they have no vital organs or arteries inside.
Just watched this over the past couple days. Really enjoyable for the first 4-5 episodes or so. I started to lose interest right before the last episode, but so glad I pushed through - I thought the finale was the best one in the series.
Funny thing about All the Light We Can Not See is that the little German boyās childhood has incidents that are very similar to what you read about the childhood of Richard Feynman, an American Jewish physicist. The scientific and electrical talent. I think the author admitted it somewhere that he got it from there, but that still rubbed me the wrong way. I understand Nazi Germany was a difficult place to grow up for some, but maybe you can make that point without ripping off stories from the life of a Jew.
Watched a couple episodes of Seinfeld while donating platelets today. Still great!
We donāt accept flagged books here
So based on some comments here, I watched foundation (thanks). Question, the robot doesnāt have to obey the three laws. Is there a reason for that? Was that in the books? Itās been so long Iāve forgotten any details like that.
Also as a result, Iāve decided that our new granddaughter can call me empire and nstead of grandpa, and Iāll call them brother dawn.
Havenāt seen the show. But in the book, the only robot who is around at the time has discovered a zero-eth law that you have to act to preserve mankind, and that pre-empts the other 3 laws.
Finished the third season of āThe Morning Show.ā
Eh.
All the Light We Cannot See - WW2 based drama with blind girl sending coded information over the radio. Only 4 episodes, which is refreshing - I have been getting tired of all the bloated series that require 8 episodes to tell a story that should only take 3-4 hours.
Really enjoyed this - Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo are favorites so not surprising. Wish Iād read the novel first because I doubt I will now, but itās a fantastic story and sadly many themes still seem contemporary despite nearly a century having passed. Be prepared for waterworks!
The book is better than the show but I enjoyed both.
Finished Gen V, the spin-off from The Boys. So much carnage, so in need of a second season which has been approved.
Last Week Tonight.
Catching up on old episodes. We love John Oliverās humour. I just donāt know how he can talk so fast for so long without pausing.
Good thing he only does it once a week. I wonder how much rehearsing he does.
Hereās something interesting:
Weāve started up the final final season of Archer on Hulu. Surprised and happy that it is not audio-cut there, F-words and everything.
Now, if/when Disney buys Hulu, I wonder how much of the content of Huluās content will be scrubbed clean.
I guess they could always force an adult password when someone logs on as an adult, have a kidsā sign-in and only certain G-/PG-rated fare is available.
