I recently read the graphic novel Homicide, by David Simon. The graphics are stark gray pictures that mostly just add mood to the book, which is basically disconnected essays and sketches of 80s police work. It was quite great though probably unnecessary if you’ve already read the books or watched the shows.

Finally, just finished reading In The Shadow Of The Banyan by Vaddey Ratner, a novel about the Cambodian genocide that Ratner experienced as a young child. At once difficult to read, and difficult to put down. Outstanding and highly recommended.
next genre Self Help - not sure if appropriate, but Notes From The Underground - Dostoyevsky
Read a lot of Dostoevsky when I was young and the books were even better when I reread them as an old guy. Never read Notes though so will be interested in your opinion on it.
A Tale of Two Cities. Thought I had read this one in high school but definitely not. Liking it so far.
