We've always been at war with Venezuela

How long before the invasion? We already have a Cassis Beli with Tren De Aragua, and they have the largest oil reserves in the world.

Added bonus, its not as far away as Iraq or Iran so easier to occupy.

Will Trumpkins sign up, or will there need to be a draft is the only real question now imo.

It just occurred to me that we’re unlikely to have another Caravan Season until the 2030 midterms.

Well, maybe it’ll still be drummed up to scare, but the narrative right now is that Trump is fixing immigration, so that muddies up the Caravan narrative.

Building up…

My first impression of that article was…

Venezuela still has an air force?

Back in the 90s I was good friends with the Venezuelan Ambassador’s daughter in Romania and its astonishing to think that in only 30 years the entire country has imploded.

Those with money or resources head to Spain, as they also started confiscating their assets once the economic situation really deteriorated because of Chavez & then Maduro.

I suppose Trump needs another boogeyman, but the country now is really no threat to anybody.

America is the threat imo…

Legal Eagle on our apparent game of blowing up random boats:

Going to be interesting if this turns out to be true (or even partly true).

Their families would have standing to sue to US Govt for damages.

Just goes to show why due process is so important.

Semi-clickbait title. If it were actually a secret mission they wouldn’t have been beaconing ADS-B data.

But tRump wanted to watch!

Top US general for South America is retired 2 years early, because maybe he didn’t want to fight a ground war in Venezula?

I wonder if they have a student lined up at the School of the Americas.

Looks like we’re sending an aircraft carrier to the Caribbean.

Can we turn the boats around please

Hegserth says somehow killing survivors from first strike with second strike is fake news.

Oh and this

Trump warned on Thursday that US efforts to halt Venezuelan drug trafficking “by land” would begin “very soon”.

Legal analysis of the latest round of boat strikes, concluding Hegseth’s order to return and kill the survivors is unambiguously illegal under US law.
