Haven’t been trying hard. A few nights of eating a lot. Based on upcoming events I am quite sure I won’t be down over the next two weeks. After that though…look out calories!

I realize by saying this it might seem like I’m not interested or it’s easy to turn on whenever I feel like losing weight. But trying is the hard part. I haven’t been doing a good job.

Trying is always the hardest part of weight loss. Gaining weight isn’t a moral failing, and not for lack of trying; its damn hard to keep the focus day in, day out, for the rest of your life.

My appetite has been all over the place this month. Since I’ve gotten my hypoglycemia under control I’ve stopped wearing a CGM consistently, but perhaps I should wear one now to see how volatile my blood sugars are.

I should really commit to a sweets-free life 99% of the time, it would make me feel so much better.

I’ve been looking for somewhere to keep myself accountable outside my Excel spreadsheet, and remembered this thread! So I’ll start by seeding with some history. My weight for years has followed the same pattern…start the year off, bounce around that level for a couple months, then dip down in the spring through summer, then by October start to tick back up and end up within a couple points of the starting point…and repeat. Until last year, when the 4th quarter upswing didn’t happen! And I’ve managed to continue the new (I hope) trend thus far this year. Attributed to more focus on diet (trying to eat mostly natural food) and walking/stretching (with some pushups while I’m down there).

Summary

I didn’t bother to save my weight history from the ao before it got canned. I started making an effort to drop some weight in late 2018 when I hit 206. Was between 180-185 for most of 2020. I’d look best around 160, but I am not willing yet to make the concessions on diet and exercise to get there. I like to eat well and I know what it takes to get me to 160. I think 170ish is a good goal for now.

Highest adult weight was 235 and lowest was 160. Both were over 20 years ago. I’m 5’11"

I had gotten out of the habit of the weekly weigh in since the ao died, so starting over.
