Losing dual-nationals left and right:

Typical: if they can play on a better National Team (not sure that Poland is better than USMNT; FIFA doesn’t think so), they will choose it. If they cannot, they’ll choose the USA.

Didn’t we discuss all this a few months ago?

That July 6 match at Seattle’s Lumen Field began with high expectations. The USMNT appeared to be in form, having put in performances that were at times dazzling, and at other times, demonstrated the requisite grit to advance.
Anyone ignoring that BEL are a top-notch team (earned their way into Pot 1 and won their group) and that the USMNT are not (Pot 2 team gifted a Pot 1 spot for hosting) was not watching and not following soccer closely enough to have such expectations.
What USSF should try to do is get the “stars” of USMNT on more televised matches at their clubs, and have announcers remind people that they are “Muricans.” Thee are USMNTs in EPL, Ligue Unnnh, Serie Ahhh, Eredivisie, Bunde, one in LaLiga, etc.
So, what networks are these on?
EPL is on the NBC family.
I’m getting La Liga on EPSN+ (free add-on with YouTubeTV). Um… not sure about the rest.
More importantly, need to work on getting hundreds or thousands of young players into a better system (than pay-to-play) competing against each other and improving, the best moving on to better clubs than the MLS. Instead, USSF is competing against the US’s culture of other sports.
Running out of foreigners that qualify.
Good luck getting any organization in this country to focus on any aspect of the sport besides monetization. Even the ones who start off with great intentions end up sacrificing development for more games because that’s what the consumer believes is better in America and any off-season/cross-sport training falls by the wayside because you can charge for another season or training session, where any gaps in your schedule mean your players money is going to some other organization for a couple of months and we can’t have that!
It’s not going to change, we need to hope for a couple of diamonds to develop at the same time as a solid GK comes through the ranks. I can’t see us culturally changing into a sustainable program, and there’s no free agency for us to buy our way into contention.

Well, those “veterans” are going to be four years older in … four years.
Better to have all players compete. I mean, if you have great players and the best is 38, that’s a good place to be. If you have shit players and the best is 38, that’s bad. Depth is the key here.
And in November when real competition happens, we’ll see what Poch does.
It’s only a “friendly” but I will probably watch the US-Canada match on Tuesday. Not expecting much from Canada as the match is on American soil and Canada is missing some of its best players but I expect it might be a spirited match given the teams involved.
I love that Poch threw the kids in as starters in a match that typically is intense and they responded.
Jesse Marsch is an enlightened American.
