The deep state has gotten to the nation’s bus drivers…
I’ve been to the Coachella music festival a few times and parking is always a nightmare. They just don’t ever seem to have a good plan to handle all those people leaving at the same time.
Like a Refugee Camp or something. They should build a wall around Coachella, make MAGA pay for it.
Trump did a town hall tonight. After taking 4 questions, he said he’d take a couple more then play some music. Took one more question, then played the Spanish version of Con Te Partirò. Then played a weird version of It’s a Man’s Man’s World. Then said he’d take another question, changed his mind and had them play YMCA, which was followed by Hallelujah (the Leonard Cohen song that’s been covered by half the musicians on the planet). Then even more songs (Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O’Conner, some Guns N’ Roses, plus something I don’t recognize).
There was more time spent doing the Trump shuffle on stage than answering questions.
Some people go to old folks homes to race wheelchairs. Others shout things while weird songs play in the common areas. At least at know what kind of crazy person we are getting.
Apparently in the limited portion in which he did speak, he told people to go and vote on January 5th. Imagine the justified furor that Biden would have caused had he said the election was in January and then spent 30 minutes of a rally randomly listening to music while on stage. The dementia talk is accurate.
What is stranger is that his support is equal to Harris’ support at this stage.
People really hate the democrats
I was listening to the recent Pod Save America episode Why You Shouldn’t Panic about the Polls. They had on David Plouffe, senior advisor for the Harris campaign.
He kept saying that the public polls were garbage, that they had better data. But what really stuck out was, he kept saying “dead even”, “extremely close”… yet several times he said things like “we are being very conservative in our polling, we don’t want to overestimate our chances”.
If I’m reading him correctly, the Harris campaign isn’t putting their thumb on the scale to force things to look like a dead heat, but they are doing everything reasonable to not oversample Democratic support and get surprised. Pessimistically that could be interpreted as manipulation to keep support high, but they’re keeping their data internal and could say anything they wanted regardless of the data. I’ve read a bit, though couldn’t adequately summarize, how pollsters are adjusting sampling methodology and results to avoid undersampling Republican support, and I’m intuiting they are doing a lot of that at the risk of being overly pessimistic about their odds.
Its close enough that its going to be a turnout game, and Harris has more upside in that.
The last few days of the campaign will shift from showing the opponent is unfit for office to creating optimism for your candidate to get voters to show up. The Harris campaign has been focused on lowering Trump’s ceiling, so I think you see dead even polls and a waning enthusiasm in those results. Enthusiasm will break towards Harris, and they just need a strong finish. Think 2016 where everyone knew Clinton, and people broke towards Trump in the last week.
Betting Markets on the election have now opened up.
Doesn’t look great.
or optimistically like “managing expectations to not create overconfidence”. Gotta walk the fine line between “all’s good” and “we must make drastic changes or we will lose”.
“He said sarcastically about her sarcastic tweet” I posted somewhat tongue-in-cheek.
The Democrats have to get out the vote.
The media say every election is an important and/or pivotal one but that is actually very true this time. Will be interesting if the US electorate sees it that way and if there is a larger than normal voter turnout.
I would also rather listen to Ave Maria on repeat than hear Trump discuss economics.
This just happened and I swear by it, but can’t share because my locality is too plastered across it.
The state GOP just sent out a mailer supporting its Republican candidate for City Commissioner.
For the photos of them on the mailer, the Republican Commissioner candidate for District 1 is using his mugshot from being convicted of a DUI early last year, with the background replaced by the American flag.
Seeing them side-by-side, there is no doubt his campaign picture is his DUI mugshot.
Work smarter not harder!
