United States Congressional Election 2026

A cheesesteak is not even Philly’s best sandwich IMO. That honor belongs to the roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. Go to Dinic’s in Reading Terminal Market.

On my list.

of the options, that is the one

DOJ is now 0-9 in lawsuits trying to get state voter data. Linking to this article b/c no paywall, it omits the total tally and the fact that the judge in this case is a Trump appointee.

RFK Jr, not content with poorly running HHS, is now trying illegally to get Libertarian candidates to drop out of competitive races. One such candidate recorded the conversation and gave it to WaPo.

Key Senate Race is going to be close

Out of all the people they could have picked, the dems went with a Nazi…

Well, it worked for the Republicans…

Are we the baddies? It’s a skull…

Susan Collins semi-recently did a photo op with a Maine neo nazi group. You can argue about whether or not she knew / should have known who they were (most politicians know who the local crazies are, at the very least her staff should have known), but the Maine Nazis support Collins, not Platner.

I agree it’s a bad look and he might be a nazi based on his tattoo or he might have made a bad decision and changed. I’m not in Maine so I won’t have to make that decision.

Unsurprising details from some Maine polling, FWIW:

I have to admit…I wonder if the results would have been slightly different had the poll script not mentioned the party in conjunction with the candidate.

Bad decision seems plausible. I know I am fairly ignorant of the world of Nazi symbols and if I saw him at the beach (it was on his chest) never would have thought Nazi. Now, if you see that on a dude with swastikas and other Nazi looking stuff, I’d think Nazi. He wouldn’t be the first person to make a bad decision on a tattoo in his younger days.

More important would be his actions since then. Perhaps he was a Nazi, or associated with other who were, earlier in life. Did he do terrible things? Let hear them. Then decide if how that compares with the terrible votes Susan Collins has made over the years.

We went over this months ago.

I am amazed that Paxton is still competitive.

Probably one of the most tainted candidates ever.

I think turnout will be hard to predict this fall, which makes all polls less reliable than in a typical turnout election.

The democratic party candidate might politely speak nicely to a gay person or a muslim and we can’t have that.

I have one regret with having shifted my party registration to D (in a botched attempt to vote in the D primaries this year) – I’m now getting text-message spammed by the D’s campaigning, fund-raising, and setting the stage for GOTV efforts…although in my blue district, the bulk of the attention is on the primaries.

(Long-time Congressman Larson is getting primaried. I haven’t paid attention to the polling, but he failed to win at the state party convention…but he got enough votes to claim a spot on a primary ballot.)

Really? It IS Texas, after all.
