i had a couple of people ask me if i felt safe living in MSP at a conference last month. i was dumbfounded. i said, there are parts of the cities i never went and still don’t. the rest is fine, except for some sporadic stuff that happens in every city I’ve ever lived near. except for when the armed masked men w unmarked cars were disappearing people off the street last winter - that was awful
He has definitely become destructive to his own party now.
Based on his trolling behavior and the lack of any consequences (to him personally), I do think he is going to sink the GOP in the mid-terms. Have no idea what kind of party will replace the GOP in the long-run, as at this stage I suspect Trump and his entourage will keep damaging the GOP even after he leaves office.
Trump’s popularity is definitely down - I am in a purple area and rarely see MAGA evidence - red hats, Trump flags, or nearly as many thin blue line displays. Many of the long standing displays that I have seen on routes that I frequent have been taken down. These people aren’t going to vote for a democrat anytime soon, they will just stay home.
I’m not sure they’ll stay home. In the last election, I noted the lack of Trump (and red, in general) signage, but the red vote came out. It made the think they’re still MAGA but just don’t want to admit it.
