Trump Says the Darndest Things!

The “truth he speaks” is that he’s incompetent.

Follow-up question should have been, “What about you? Do you have the right to due process for all the crimes you’ve committed, are committing as we speak, and will commit in the future?”

i think he’d have answered with some word salad around how the supreme court said the president can’t commit crimes and once you understand that ruling (or take it as extremely as you wish) then there is no due process to anything bc it’s an empty set. I bet he is super excited to play that card if provoked

My follow up after he says he doesn’t know if he has to uphold the constitution: Do you remember swearing an oath recently that you would do so?

This is so stupid, and a failure of anyone in the room to tell him why it’s stupid.

I think you get thrown out of the room as soon as you point out that the emporer has no clothes…

I can’t remember a POTUS who instilled such fear in his party. Not even Nixon was feared like this.

Nixon didn’t have a well-armed private army willing to harass and intimidate his detractors, and he didn’t have the world’s richest man openly threatening to primary anyone who won’t lavish him with public praise. Hard to say how Nixon would have behaved with that kind of backing, but I imagine he would show a bit more restraint.

Nixon hadn’t driven members of his party who didn’t drink the Kool Aid into retirement.

Apparently a TV station in Palm Beach played Escape from Alcatraz while Trump was in the area…

But that movie points out that the salt air has degraded the concrete enough to make it easy to dig holes in the walls, and makes the prison totally useless. Did he not understand the plot?

Conversations with some officials who have briefed Trump and others who are aware of how he absorbs information portray a president with a short attention span. He likes single-page memos and visual aids like maps, charts, graphs and photos.

National Security Council officials have strategically included Trump’s name in “as many paragraphs as we can because he keeps reading if he’s mentioned,” according to one source, who relayed conversations he had with NSC officials.

This is the part I liked:

Still, the NFL has learned the art of the deal, when it comes to dealing with the 47th president. Gratitude, flattery, and praise are the key ingredients to the not-so-secret sauce.

It also wouldn’t hurt to name the new stadium after him.

Maybe Florio doesn’t like his job all that much. Maybe NBC doesn’t like its FCC license.

But, this should keep tRump off of the NFL’s back for a couple [strike]years[/strike] days.
(what’s the fancy code to strike characters here?)

Trump: “The courts have all of the sudden, out of nowhere, they said, ‘maybe you have to have trials.’ Trials. We’re gonna have 5 million trials? It doesn’t work. You wouldn’t have a country left.”

Its no longer surprising or unexpected. Just another Monday in the US as your freedoms get taken away, clearly and blatantly.

In the 4000 years since our country’s founding, we have never once had a trial, people tell me.

We don’t need to have trials for people who are here illegally, and we already know they’re here illegally because if they were legal they’d be getting trials.
