Trump Says the Darndest Things!

Trump does not understand the US agricultural industry. American farmers produce more crops than Americans can consume and rely on export markets for the surplus. They hold no cards.

**On Monday, Mr. Trump wrote on social media: “To the Great Farmers of the United States: Get ready to start making a lot of agricultural product to be sold INSIDE of the United States. Tariffs will go on external product on April 2nd. Have fun!”

The Executive Director of the Kansas Farmers Union responded: “it’s “puzzling” that someone would say something like that to farmers.

“This isn’t a game. It’s not a reality TV show. It’s reality. There’s nothing fun or funny about this, when you’ve got markets that have been built up for years and decades, frankly, that are now being put into question and people are wondering if they’re going to be able to raise the crop, make it work, pay for things that they need to pay for, make a living, all of those things.”

He said that Mr. Trump’s “flippant” comments add to the anxiety. “I don’t know anybody right now that’s having a lot of fun doing what they’re doing.”**

Drinking liberal tears is fun, right? Guessing a lot of liberals are crying over farmers’ plights.

In a social media post on Thursday, Trump said he believed Trudeau “is using the Tariff problem, which he has largely caused, in order to run again for Prime Minister”. “So much fun to watch!” the US president wrote.

Trump does not understand that Trudeau steps down as Liberal Party Leader and Canadian Prime Minister after his successor is chosen on Sunday. Our system works differently than the US one.

This may shock you, but Trump lied about trans kids in his speech.

The Trump administration is “working to protect our children from toxic ideologies in our schools,” President Donald Trump told the nation during a televised address to Congress last night. He went on to share a story about January Littlejohn and her husband, Jeffrey, who allegedly “discovered that their daughter’s school had secretly socially transitioned their 13-year-old little girl,” conspiring to “deceive January and her husband while encouraging her daughter to use a new name and…they/them pronouns.”

The school did this “all without telling January,” Trump reiterated, before touting his administration’s efforts to make public schools less friendly to “transgender ideology.”

Trump immediately pivoted to talking about how he would help pass a bill to criminalize “sex changes on children,” blurring the lines between mild actions like calling students by their preferred pronouns and major medical interventions of the sort that are exceedingly rare.

But that’s not the only way that Trump’s comments were misleading.

In Trump’s telling, the school was both pushing gender nonconformity on the Littlejohn’s child and doing so without the parents’ knowledge. But emails obtained by media outlets years ago suggest that not only did the parents know this was going on, it was they who first broached the subject with the school and suggested that staff follow their child’s lead on name and pronouns.

It would only shock me if Trump told the truth about anything.

Remember when Trump’s darndest things were often just about him being a terrible person, and less about a hostile government takeover?

It’s infuriating that Trump gets a pass on his dementia because it’s the aggressive/combative kind.

It is apparently illegal to boycott the real President. And apparently Krasnov is getting on the EV bandwagon?

Oof, President Musk must be more chafed about TSLA’s stock than I assumed. I guess even when you’re the most powerful and richest man in the world, it stings to lose that much.

I want to see the video of Trump driving his new Tesla. (Presumably, not on a public road.)

Perhaps he will be unwise when he decides to play with plaid mode or launch control.

Trump says he will shortly be declaring a national emergency on electricity

So he is basically using Ford’s tariffs as a pretext to centralise more power.

Oh, he might get a Tesla (a CT, cuz need to boost sales), but I doubt he will buy it.

And, he’d probably use it as a golf cart.

Trump will get nowhere with his tariffs as long as his negotiating position is Canada becoming the 51st state. He has to get reasonable on this.

Ford is as crazy as Trump……

He bought, or was given, a Model S. He announced it today, here are his notes from the announcement.
