Trump Says the Darndest Things!

That’s the scary bit.

It gets him free attention, and it rallies his base.

:grimacing: That’s the kind of thing I could see China saying about the cost of wanting to seize the independent nation of Taiwan for itself should it one day decide to pull the trigger on that.

Was there any one thing in Trump’s upbringing that made him this way? Beaten on the head too many times? (Not enough times?)

Perhaps a mixture of both: not being beaten for shit behavior and being beaten for good behavior.

His father was a despicable person who never loved him. Maybe that’s part of it.

OK, so San Diego is home to the Pacific Surface Fleet. To its east is Miramar Air Force Base, former home of Top Gun, now home to Marine air power.
To the north (pretty far north, just outside LA County) is Edwards AFB.
So, yeah, let’s let them do that.

Dude definitely needed to be beat up a few times in his youth for being such an asshole (on the assumption of “once an asshole, always an asshole,” and reverse engineering).

Yeah, that too. Gotta keep the chicks and gays interested.

Trump’s father may have been a despicable person, but his conclusion seems pretty rational given all the public evidence we all have about DJT.

Plenty of children have shitty unloving fathers that did not grow up to be complete self centered assholes.

DJT was likely cared for by people who let him do what he wanted, were not allowed to call him out when he lied, etc,

There is quite a lot of evidence (from his own family) that pointed to his father being physically, emotionally, and verbally abusive. If you wanted to create a diseased personality (BPD, NPD etc) thats how you would do it: sustained abuse during childhood. Trump has zero empathy and cannot relate to anyone in a healthy way (not even his own kids who are now also a bit messed up).

maybe shitty personality is genetic and runs in the family?

Why not both?

Some people see that book as a warning, Republicans see it as an instruction manual.

it’s all just a matter of perspective

From the article:

He can direct the government to use [Super Intelligence] but he cannot force Americans — or anyone else — to use his preferred terminology.

The Independent has reached out to NVIDIA, Palantir, Meta, OpenAI, Google, Tesla and Anthropic regarding whether the companies have any plans to use the president’s new terminology in promotional materials or other customer communications; none responded.

Yeah, “none responded” because they have a Super interest in keeping Trump on their side. Trump thinks he can force private citizens, at least those who run large corporations, to use his preferred terminology.

The Independent is more optimistic on this issue than I am.

Bezos is on board with SI. Surprised Tesla didn’t respond b/c Elon is publicly on board as well.

IFYP. And he probably will be able to.
