Guessing that Democrats may be a bit more objective than Republicans on this subject? Many Republicans need to be a bit blind about Trump to support him?
Turnout will be the main driver of the next election if its Trump vs Biden.
Women will absolutely not vote for Trump though. If they have high turnout Trump loses again.
Some abortion measures might affect female turnout, but I donât know what that will look like next year.
Well, we have no data on how being indicted or a convicted felon running for president effects voters. I think, if you erase DTJâs criminal record, he wins in '24.
I think Republicansâ answer might be impacted by considerations other than age.
The Independentsâ answers however, are interesting. I assume theyâre reacting to physical appearance, etc. rather than just chronological age (although Fox News, etc. highlighting Bidenâs frailness might also bias perceptions).
Trumps personality is younger. Anger, aggression, disrespect for others, those are things you associate with teenagers and senile adults, so Trump just needs to look more like a child than a senile and he gets the edge.
I donât disagree, but incontinent of stool should move bloatus higher on the too old scale.
Trump decided not to participate in the Republican primary debate. Bidens move should be not to debate a felon.
Debates arenât too helpful in general for choosing a candidate, but particularly so for Biden vs Trump. We already all know exactly what we get from each of these guys. We donât need a debate to learn more.
Humble brag?
44 is much too young to be leading a major political party. I donât trust anyone under 45.
Augustus Caesar was 36 when he became emperor. He did alright.
In more modern times, William Pitt the Younger became Prime Minister at the age of 24 and did some good things.
I think âIndependentâ usually refers to people who donât like to call themselves Republican or Democrat.
Yes, probably fewer examples of politicians over 80 accomplishing much!
I do remember all the fuss about JFK, at age 43, being elected POTUS.
Or theyâre oddballs like me, voting third party (even if not formally affiliated)âŚbut the pollsters lack a bucket to put us in.
Do you remember if there was an issue with Teddyâs age?
Ouch.
Age often correlates with an accumulation of accomplishments. Teddy had that in spades by that time.
Meanwhile, we have an absolute zero trying to run again for President. Not as if half the country today cares about accomplishments and qualifications. Just a river of liberal tears.
Are you talking about Chris Christie?
Apparently he was governor of NJ, and also a Federal Prosecutor who knows something about corruption.
So, no, Iâm not talking about Christie.
Christie was super popular in NJ, until he became super unpopular when he decided he was more worried about Federal office than the state, plus bridgegate. Alas, Iâd prefer him over many of the other GOP options.
in a different universe, bridgegate gains him votes. an openly super petty politician? now you know the extent to which he will be a dick about stuff
