Utah paused trans health care for minors, appointed a commission to study it. The commission was actually composed of unbiased health experts, unlike other political moves like the Cass report or what HHS anonymously put together. The commission came back and said that yes, trans health care for minors is a good thing. Legislators don’t care.

Trump admin is investigating University of Wyoming because a sorority there voted to admit a trans woman. The woman in question has already graduated and never lived at the sorority house due to the ensuing debate, sororities are explicitly excluded from Title IX (the basis for the investigation), and are run independently of the school, so clearly this is a worthwhile use of resources.

Same shit happened to two transgender girl track athletes in CA.
First, I don’t see where the “Right to Win” is written anywhere, so what “rights” are being violated?
Do these people realize why Title IX exists? It is because girls were being denied the right to compete at the same level of financing as boys. And now, they want these girls not to compete? Even irony is twisting itself into a knot.
They’re winning. The girl from OR that Fox is complaining about is moving back to Canada (and is also 5 seconds slower in the 400 from sophomore to junior year, so my guess is that she has started hormones, not that any naysayers care)
Slight tangent, somewhat related I guess? One of the voice actors on King of the hill is gay. They harassed him, burned his house down, killed his dog and then shot him dead.
It’s actually unbelievable that society is regressing again. This is 1950’s craziness. Theyre killing people because they’re gay. Extrapolate that to trans folks, and things are dire.

Somehow, the trends all seem like bad news for trans people. On all fronts, both parties.
So the current messaging is not working. What has to change? Cuz right now, it appears to be a loser in general elections

It feels like the hate machine is managing to permeate culture thoroughly. Not just the US, but globally.

The NYT, Atlantic, Guardian, and Telegraph all have documented heavily anti-trans editorial biases. That’s going to shift opinions.
I’m going to say that’s quite a stretch. Republicans (the red line) are unlikely to be reading either the Atlantic or the NYT.
I suggest it is the increasing visibility, e.g. when Kamala mentioned she favored providing transition treatments for prisoners. A gaffe that could only have hurt her campaign. I am not saying it was THE cause of her loss, only that it contributed. It’s a reasonable inference from the polling data.
So the question stands…what approach could get those lines to trend favorably?

Of the few commercials I saw in the cycle, one was set as a clip of two black guys doing a podcast or radio show or something commenting on Kamala’s giving sex changes to prisoners. So at the least someone with money thought that would play. Not that my red state was ever in question.
Pushed my neighbor and bridge partner over the edge. But that’s anecdotal, the polls carry more weight.
