I almost forgot about him
I’d be shocked if he finishes top 3.
He might be upstaged by Florian Lipowitz.
I think there will be a good battle for a podium finish between Lipowitz and Remco. Rog seems to have fallen off his horse one too many times.
Draft kings has Remco, Almeida, Rog and Lipowitz at 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Future GT tours need to have 3 time trials each just to give Remco a better shot at the title and to make it a 3-way battle rather than just between Tadej and Jonas.
The 2023 Giro had 3 time trials specifically to get Remco to do it and he was in contention for victory until he got covid. But with just 2 time trials it’s predicted that he’ll be up there but probably won’t win.
Peacock needs to refer to Tadej’s jersey as the rainbow jersey, not white jersey. It’s bugging me. And yes, I am autistic, why do you ask?

Things that I’m not surprised by:
This Pogačar fella winning a stage
I believe it was an uphill finish (which is why Van de poel didn’t smoke them at the end) and everybody was still recovering from the cat 3 climb. Last year Jonas beat Pog at the line in an uphill sprint, which was unexpected but does show he has a kick

As we wait for the big names to start, I didn’t realize that Pogačar will take over the points lead if he finishes top 4 today. It would be hilarious to see him race stage 6 in green. And we did already have Jonas in green at the Critérium du Dauphiné earlier in the season.
That reminds me of when Nairo Quintana once wore the green (2019 Vuelta) for several days. He’s the furthest rider from a sprinter you could get. Roglic ended up winning the green jersey in the end.

Jonas didn’t do so well today. I’m sure he’ll put up a big fight in the mountains but this does leave the possibility of Remco getting 2nd.
