I make those thread titles, because my TV listings are titled that way.

There’s an NBA thread, just not an NBA basketball thread.
In high school & college I was totally into basketball, but now I enjoy baseball and football more. 
Good thing the thread creator can edit thread titles!

NBA Basketball seem repetitive
Personally, I don’t think any of those sports thread names are really redundant. The NBA or NFL is describing the sport so we can distinguish between say NBA basketball and NCAA Men’s basketball.
As opposed to MLB Baseball, NHL Hockey, MLS Soccer, and NFL Football, which are not repetitive???
For NCAA you certainly need the additional qualifiers of sport and, in most cases sex.
You wouldn’t need to say NCAA Men’s Baseball or NCAA Women’s Softball though… just “baseball” or “softball” is sufficient since there is no men’s softball or women’s baseball.
And you certainly don’t need to specify NBA men’s basketball. The NBA does nothing but men’s basketball, so the rest doesn’t need to be stated.
That said, I never noticed any of them until this morning.

Tuna fish is the stuff that comes in cans (or pouches these days). Tuna is the fish you get in restaurants or in your sushi.
For lunch today, I’m have a tuna fish sandwich. Friday, I’ll be having seared tuna for dinner.
