No need to be specific, just a loose description
Alternating between a stabbing aching pain in my upper back and extreme itching on my mid to upper back in close to the same spot. It seems unrelated to each other other than similar spot. I’m also exhausted. At first with the back stabbing pain i thought I have cancer for sure and an unrelated allergic reaction to something making my back itch like crazy. Now I don’t know. Are these symptoms of shingles?
I’m going to agree with Marcie that pain is sometimes in weird places. I once had a blood stick in one ear, when I donated blood or something, and the OTHER ear bothered me all day.
Have they checked for obvious stuff like appendicitis
No family history of liver problems, just gallbladder. Bilirubin was normal every time I’ve had it tested
Yes
The first time I had shingles it started with painful sores and itching on my back
My husband never had sores when he had shingles, he just had a painful patch on his flank. The skin looked fine.
Just got my 2nd dose of the shingles vaccine yesterday. Feeling kinda crummy today but if it helps me avoid the real deal I’m fine with minor side effects. My cousin had shingles last year and it sounded horrible.
I’ve had the shingles twice, both times before I turned 40. Do not want again.
Could also be kidney stones. This matches my experience with kidney stones with the exceptions of I was very nauseous (instead of vomiting) and didn’t have violent diarrhea.
Was your urine pretty dark during this time?
With stuff coming out of both ends, I don’t remember urinating at all that morning. It was a struggle deciding what bodily function needed priority
I am aware of two kinds. (1) lousy. (2) tremendous.
What about later? When you did “go”?
It’s been a few weeks so I don’t remember. I think I would remember if I had very dark urine as that would be unusual for me.
That was exactly my experience. A gallstone attack felt like getting hit across the back horizontally with a baseball bat.
i don’t think this is shingles anymore. back to thinking i just have an allergic reaction to something or dry skin due to the weather making my back itch, plus unrelated cancer making my back hurt and it’s a coincidence that both symptoms are in my back.
Have you been to see a physician?
no because doctors have been useless to me the last few times i’ve contacted one. hoping it just goes away.
