Thread for discussing company bankruptcies

Crazy, even after all of the robots they have choosing the songs (ones that are not switched off by listeners for whatever reason, and yet, “Carry on My Wayward Son”…) they still can’t make any money?
too big too fast, IMO.

They also own a lot of talk/sports stations and the people there get paid big bucks

Relying on premium radio content?

Sounds like combine the worst part of XM Sirius satellite radio and podcasting

Personally I love listening to the radio in the car. Best of luck to audacy

Audacy is also producing some high cost podcasts. Podcasting just does not pay enough to justify a big paycheck for the talent.

Pay them what they are worth, and no one would do it.

That’s not true. There is plenty of no-name talent looking to make a name for themselves that are good and will work for cheap. Now that’s not going to justify an ad push like they give Joe Rogan, “Stuff you should Know” or “Say More” but there’s people that don’t cost that much and still put on a good show.

I can’t believe that it’s taken so long.

Walgreens needs to get their act together or they’ll be following close behind.

Aside for 11 months back in 2016/7 I haven’t spent a lot of time in the U.S. recently, but Walgreens sucked from at least 1999 to 2011. I’m surprised it’s taken this long for them to fail. I remember CVS as being somewhat better. I had a friend who was a pharmacist in a not spectacular, but not awful part of Baton Rouge and he said people were constantly leaving behind rocks of crack(?).

I feel like that is might just be a Louisiana thing

Not quite there yet, but it looks like Frontier dropped their bid to acquire Spirit and Spirit is circling the drain.

I guess they were a cheap option that applied a little price pressure on the larger carriers. But from my POV, I flew Spirit once. Once!

I wonder if Frontier might reopen their bid, given the imminent change to a presumably less anti-merger regime.
