Two homes on our local bluff just (eta: in the last 10 or so years as part of renos, not original construction) added these kind of rooms. Haven’t seen people sitting in them while driving by, but looks like it would be neat.
Set it and oubliette it… (ok, not an actual oubliette, just an etymological play)
By modern (McMansion) standards, my house is small. I’m pretty sure it will be a tear-down when I leave it.
I think modern standards are bizarre, but they have driven US furniture to be huge so the space doesn’t look empty. This is a problem for me, because it’s hard to find furniture that fits in some of the rooms of my house. Mind you, there’s old furniture that is perfectly comfortable and holds people just fine without overflowing my rooms. The difference is largely in how fat the bolsters and backs and stuff are, not in anything functional.
But yes, FCAS money has been nice.

Wait for it…
My thought exactly.
And there it is. Edited to add rivets as a link.
Lemme try.

I’m really glad they came here to tell us about where to buy high quality rivets. I feel like I’ve been plagued by a series of low quality rivets for years now.
I’ll give him points for a catchy website name.
Now if they could only tell me where I can buy some round tuits. I’ve got square ones, triangle ones, even octagonal ones, but if I could get a round tuit then I’d really get things done.
This seems to be a dead link, Mr Lobster
Always Step 1 in any construction, cleaning, replacement, etc. project.
I missed it!
It was real and it was spectacular
Well, good luck finding good rivets next time you need them.
Stupid work interfering with my GoA time!

Yo @Hip_tiger: you never did answer my question about why a well should be on someone’s wishlist for a dream home.
