I’ll be annoyed at myself if this one hits this year. This was a deep pull on a local guy here, that I was surprised had a full wiki. He’s been in hospice care. I dropped due to lack of updates.

I didn’t have him on my list. Part of it was because I forgot he was sick, but even if I’d remembered that my thought was “he’s overplaying how bad it is, he’s going to use this to grift from the rubes.”
Anyway, back to life.

Scott Adams:

Mr. Adams was an author and cartoonist, mostly known as the creator of the comic strip Dilbert, which poked fun at bad bosses. He died today at age 68.

I didn’t submit him here, but others did. I did submit him in my 2 other pools.
One thing that sucks for me is that he doesn’t have a qualifying obit yet in my money pool. News of his death has to hit a list of approved sources, but so far it hasn’t. I’m slightly surprised by that, as Midnight Oil was big back in the day. Fingers crossed I get a QO in the next day.

Rob Hirst: DEAD!
Mr. Hirst was an Australian musician from Camden, New South Wales. He was a founding member of the rock band Midnight Oil on drums, percussion and backing vocals (sometimes lead vocals) from the 1970s until the band took a hiatus in 2002. The band resumed performing and recording in 2017. Hirst was also a member of the bands Ghostwriters, Backsliders, the Angry Tradesmen and the Break. He also wrote a book, Willie’s Bar & Grill, recounting the experiences on the tour Midnight Oil embarked on shortly after the September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. He died January 20 at age 70.

Brad Arnold: DEAD!
Mr. Arnold was an American singer-songwriter and musician. In 1996, he co-founded the rock band 3 Doors Down with Todd Harrell and Matt Roberts, serving as its lead vocalist. The band rose to prominence with the 2000 single “Kryptonite”, which Arnold wrote when he was fifteen years old. He opened the door to the afterlife as he died February 7 at age 47.
