Mr. Van Der Beek was an American actor. Known for his portrayal of Dawson Leery on The WB’s Dawson’s Creek (1998–2003), he also played a fictionalized version of himself on the cult ABC sitcom Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, starred as FBI agent Elijah Mundo on CSI: Cyber (2015–2016), and appeared as Matt Bromley during the first season of the FX drama Pose (2018). Van Der Beek’s film credits included Varsity Blues (1998), Texas Rangers (2001), The Rules of Attraction (2002), Formosa Betrayed (2009), Labor Day (2013), and Bad Hair (2020). I seem to remember him sneaking into Scary Movie playing Dawson, saying he was on the wrong set as they were parodying him and then he showed up. I wonder if it was yes or sorry since she didn’t want to wait for his life to be over as sadly died of colorectal cancer today at the young age of 48.

Jesse Jackson: DEAD!
Rev. Jackson was an American civil rights activist, politician and ordained Baptist minister. A protégé of Martin Luther King Jr. and James Bevel during the civil rights movement, he became one of the most prominent civil rights leaders of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Jackson began his activism in the 1960s and founded the organizations that later merged to form the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition. He ran for president, finishing third in 1984 and second in 1988 for the Democratic nomination. He passed away today at age 84.

When I saw the Reverend last year as he was getting released from the hospital, it was like watching Dad in his last few months: no facial expression, had to be moved via wheelchair, very sunken look to his face. When they said he had PSP, I knew it was a matter of time.

Mr. Dane was an American actor. After multiple television roles in the 1990s and 2000s, including his recurring role as Jason Dean on Charmed, he was cast as Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy (2006–2012; 2021). He went on to appear in films such as X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Marley & Me (2008), Valentine’s Day (2010), Burlesque (2010), and Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024). Dane also played Captain Tom Chandler in the TNT series The Last Ship (2014–2018), Cal Jacobs in the HBO drama series Euphoria (2019–2026), and FBI Special Agent Nathan Blythe in the Amazon Prime Video crime series Countdown (2025). In 2025, he announced that he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which led to his death February 20 at the age of 53.
