Princess Bajrakitiyabha was a member of the Chakri dynasty of Thailand. She was the first grandchild of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, the oldest child of King Vajiralongkorn, and the only one born to the latter’s first wife Princess Soamsawali. It had been highly speculated that Bajrakitiyabha would succeed Vajiralongkorn, either as queen proper or queen regent for her youngest brother Dipangkorn Rasmijoti. In 2022, she collapsed as a result of a heart condition while out walking her dogs. After a nearly four-year coma, she died yesterday at the tender age of 47.
