“Ryno” was an American baseball player, coach, and manager. He played 16 seasons in MLB as a second baseman for the Phillies (1981) and Cubs (1982–1994, 1996–1997).
After a slow start to his career, Sandberg made a name for himself on June 23, 1984, having a career game, including two home runs in what would colloquially become known as the “Sandberg Game”. Following this, Sandberg established himself as a perennial All-Star and Gold Glove candidate, making 10 consecutive All-Star appearances and winning nine consecutive Gold Gloves from 1983 to 1991. His career .989 fielding percentage was a major-league record at second base when he retired in 1997. He is tied with Jose Altuve for the most Silver Slugger Awards for a second baseman with seven. In 2005, Sandberg was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He went on to do some coaching and managing in the Phillies organization. He died of prostate cancer yesterday at age 65."

From 1995 to 2008 he hosted a night-time radio show on talkSPORT, followed by stints on LBC 97.3 and various BBC radio stations. Whale was the host of the podcast The James Whale Show and a night-time weekly radio show on talkRADIO.
Whale was known as a presenter who was controversial and outspoken. In 2024, Whale was awarded an MBE for his services to broadcasting and charity. He died August 4 at age 74.

Mr. Caprio was an American judge and politician who served as the chief judge of the municipal court of Providence, RI, and chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education. His judicial work was televised on the program Caught in Providence. He also made appearances in the series Parking Wars, adjudicating several cases of traffic violations. The Caught in Providence YouTube channel has 2.92 million subscribers. In 2017, his videos in the courtroom went viral, with more than 15 million views. In 2022, views of Caught in Providence neared 500 million, and one video shared on Pulptastic had 43.6 million views on YouTube. He became well known for his empathy and light humor in court. He died yesterday at age 88.

Mr. McLeod was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played with Norwegian side Narvik IK. He also played for Manchester Storm in the UK Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). MacLeod was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer over a decade ago in 2013 while playing for an AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Doctors removed a golf-ball-sized non-cancerous tumor from the left side of his brain, and he lost the ability to speak. Still, MacLeod’s continued playing professional hockey despite not being able to speak and while undergoing aggressive treatments.While playing in Germany during the 2018 season MacLeod suffered a series of seizures that looked to end his career. He made a miraculous comeback in 2021 though, playing in the UK for the EIHL’s Manchester Storm. That comeback was halted after just 7 games due to his deteriorating health. He died from brain cancer on September 13 at the tender age of 38.
