The MAGAfication of the Republican party

Not sure where to best put this.

Less than 24 hours before Kyle Clifford committed the triple murder that would leave his ex-girlfriend, Louise Hunt, her sister and mother dead, he searched the internet for misogynistic podcasts.

What was not revealed to the jury – who have now found the former soldier guilty of rape, adding to his previous admissions of murder – was that the 26-year-old had listened to the influencer Andrew Tate.

Clifford had watched up to 10 videos of the self-styled misogynist influencer in the lead-up to the assault on Louise in what the prosecution described as a “final act of spite”.

But the judge, Mr Justice Bennathan, ruled that the jury could not hear evidence regarding the killer’s interest in Tate, saying it was “deeply prejudicial” to his rape trial because the influencer was “almost a poster boy for misogynists”. He told the court: “It may well be that one who takes a close interest in Tate, other than law enforcement officials, could be seen as a misogynist.

The judge would not allow the jury to hear the evidence that the murderer/rapist listened to Andrew Tate, because a jury might reasonably conclude that an Andrew Tate listener is a misogynist.

“OK, I want to be misogynistic, but how? Hmm, the internet might help…”

State Rep. Josh Schriver, R-Oxford, who has called porn a “scourge” and compared it to heroin, introduced legislation in September to ban online pornography statewide. But data reviewed by Metro Times show that an account linked to his personal AOL email address appeared in a data breach from Fling.com, a pornographic dating site that features live web cams and promised users they could “find sex” and “get laid tonight.” An archived version of the site shows it provided access to explicit photos, videos, and live sex webcams. For years, the website described itself as the “world’s best casual personals for adult dating, sex, and swingers.”

The leaked information, verified by the cybersecurity database SnusBase, lists Schriver’s email address and a profile indicating sexual interests including “fetish” and “groupsex.” The account was last accessed on Sept. 11, 2010, according to breach data.

The records also suggest the account was authentic. The same email address and password appear in multiple other breaches linked to Schriver’s verified personal accounts, including MySpace and Chegg, a homework help platform. The birthday and IP address in the Fling.com records align with Schriver’s March 1992 birth date and his time as a student at Michigan State University in East Lansing, where he graduated in 2015.

“This is fake,” Schriver said. “I’ve never heard of this website or accessed it.”

Schriver’s denial is contradicted by extensive cybersecurity data reviewed by Metro Times. The information appears in multiple verified breach databases and includes personal details, such as his birth date, AOL address, and an IP address in East Lansing.

[Shriver] voted against bills banning child marriage and closing Michigan’s marital rape loophole, which provided legal protection to anyone who drugged or assaulted their spouse.

When the Trump Organization launched a mobile phone service last June, it was supposed to be a stage setter for a new smartphone bathed in gold with a $500 price tag — a bargain compared to Apple’s latest iPhone models that sell for anywhere from $800 to $1,200.

What’s more, Trump Mobile initially hailed T1 as a device that would be “proudly designed and built in the United States for customers who expect the best.” But both the T1’s shipping date and U.S. manufacturing ambitions gradually began to shift, even as Trump Mobile continues to accept $100 deposits for the device. Not long after announcing the device, Trump Mobile pivoted from describing it as phone that would be made in the U.S. to framing it as a device that would be “proudly American.” Trump Mobile’s website now touts the T1 as having an “American-proud” design, with no further explanation.

Analysts believed that the shift stemmed from a recognition that the U.S. lacked the supply chain and other logistics required to make a smartphone for less than $1,000 — the same hurdles that made it implausible for Apple to acquiesce to President Trump’s demands that the company move its iPhone manufacturing from China and India.

For customers looking for a smartphone that they can use sooner rather than later, Trump Mobile is also selling refurbished versions of older iPhones and Samsung’s Galaxy models at prices ranging from $370 to $630.

Not sure Trump understands manufacturing.

A full-grown man exited his truck, threw punches at two young girls, knocked one to the ground and went after another, was tackled by a couple of other children, and then got back to his truck and left.

Given that this was just yesterday, I assume there will be better reporting soon.

I think I saw video of the fight on Instagram. The guy was attacking a small teen girl and he got jumped by a bunch of students after that.

That was the video, but I saw it in a format I couldn’t easily link. After a scuffle, the man gets free, backs away, and the students allow him to leave and get back in the truck he got out of to start the fight - albeit one or two students throwing something like a water bottle at his truck.
