The end of qualified immunity?

Could this mark the end of qualified immunity?

I can’t even imagine the full ramifications of how this would change policing.

Like, if a police officer initiates a no-knock raid on the wrong house and flashbangs me, damaging my hearing, and shoots me, there might be civil penalties for the officer? Or if they kneel on the neck of an unconscious person until they die?

I am not convinced qualified immunity is a bad concept.

If the local board rezones your homes neighborhood are you entitled to sue the board for damages when a 5 story apartment rises in your backyard? Administrators cannot be held personally liable, imo.

The police is a whole different situation. But this going to take careful wording to avoid throwing out the baby.

Luckily for them, this is probably covered by qualified immunity.
