Where I grew up there was a family owned place called Camelot bakery. Fresh donuts and pastries every day.
The donuts were good not great. The pastries were AMAZING. Flaky with terrific fillings. My personal favorite was the chocolate covered eclairs with bavarian cream. The lemon danish was a close second.
I miss that place. The couple that ran it retired and no one took it over.
Atlanta’s long standing Krispy Kreme location burned down recently due to arson. It was an institution, being a big seller there since 1965.
