I believe there’s certain stuff that has to be done before a hospital can officially discharge a patient from their care. If that stuff requires the patient’s consent/cooperation, they might have a dillemma.

“Resisting without violence” is a separate criminal charge? That’s nuts.

That’s the charge used in Florida for failing to comply with an LEO’s orders. It’s a misdemeanor, as opposed to the “with violence” version (the classic “resisting”) which is a felony.
Hard to get away with things like that.
Especially when you brag to the world about it.
