We have a society that doesn’t have a caste system build on parental wealth?
So have 100% inheritance tax.
Great! Spend money that you have while you can. Completely aligns with my philosophy ![]()
Somehow I think men would be much more willing to tie their tubes in exchange for money than women. Poor ones especially.
Just a guess.
what’s the problem?
I don’t watch videos, give me the gist of it in a sentence.
I don’t do summaries. Sorry mate.
Then I assume you have no point.
That’s a non sequitur. But go off.
I asked you what the supposed problem is with rich people having fewer kids than poor kids. You’ve been unable to define the problem, but think somehow this undefined problem requires a government policy to sterilize people.
Generational poverty that’s worsening, exacerbated by automation and capitalism which further consolidates the wealth into the hands of a few.
Thank you.
Reintroduce the estate tax and it fixes that problem.
I already said that.
Dangling money to have someone sterilize themself runs into all the same issues that led to banning payment for organs. Takes advantage of the poor.
Your solution is?
To me the problem doesn’t lie with the poor. So the solution of “sterilize the poor so there are less poor people around” doesn’t work.
Part of the problem lies with the wealthy inheriting gobs from their parents. Solution is complicated. One part is estate tax - if be in favor of capping it at some level so passing on some is okay but not multi millions. But many other things- addressing housing costs. Healthcare reform. Not a simple solution, but sterilization is a never for me.
How about squid game
I know you’re trolling for humor here, but a poor person is just as respectable and valuable as a wealthy person and should be treated as such.
Wishful thinking. You know full well they’re not being treated respectably as the wealthy currently, that’s why we need solutions.
Giving them a chance to be as rich as others is not demeaning them. Some of them literally have nothing and have to poop on the streets, and most of them beg for money, even in the presence of government payouts and housing.
Squid game is obviously designed for dramatic purposes, but it is effective in ideology. If someone with literally negative value in society wants to gamble his life for a possible fortune (in a humane way, aka, not squid game style but maybe a sedative), I think that’s a workable solution.
Or you can continue to think that’s inhumane while simultaneously make your actuarial money and kick homeless people off your curb but also think you’re being super progressive.
A well reasoned and cogently stated argument. How could I possibly refute an ad hominem attack such as this.
